This magnificent route links the towns of Mouzon and Givet along the Meuse. The route follows a portion of around 130 kilometers of EuroVelo 19, known as the Meuse by bike. In France, the entire route connects the town of Langres to the Belgian border near Givet over nearly 450 kilometers. This cycle route offers an immersion between preserved natural landscapes and towns with a rich historical heritage.
The Meuse played a fundamental role in European construction. From border to commercial crossroads, its banks have shaped history. The towns you pass through during your adventure are privileged witnesses to these influences. Many of them offer the possibility of stopping off throughout the route, such as Sedan, Charleville-Mézières or Monthermé.
The start of the route is in the center of Mouzon. Built between the Meuse and its canal, this charming village immediately sets the tone for what awaits you along the Meuse. After about twenty kilometers, the river takes you to Sedan, a town with an exceptional historical heritage. Exploring it means going back in time while discovering the history of France. Its imposing medieval castle, a favorite monument of the French, is undoubtedly one of the attractions of the Ardennes. Then it’s the turn of Charleville-Mézières to welcome you. Its pretty city center and its Place Ducale deserve to leave the official route for a moment.
Then, you approach a part of the Meuse which becomes wilder. The curves of the river intensify as beautiful cliffs surround it. At the bend of a meander you discover picturesque villages while the bridges which span the watercourse offer beautiful impressions of grandeur.
The Ardennes Regional Natural Park offers a final green setting before concluding your adventure in the picturesque town of Givet, near the train station. Daily trains provide connections to Charleville-Mézières and Sedan.

We spent the night in Hastiere with Hannah and Nico, Evan from Portland US was also there via warm showers. A pleasant evening with food, beers and a game of dice. Then through the French Ardennes. Now arrived in Sedan with people in a Chateau :)
