Beautifully laid out paths with the option to hold on to a steel cable at all times. You also have a good view of the water from the paths.

Above an artificial waterfall, the Grießbach stream widens. The terrain is very rocky, but offers enough space to spread out a picnic blanket and relax.

Meanwhile, the children can play in the stream, build cairns or explore the barefoot path.

Trail Reviews

June 10, 2023, Große Griesbachrunde (Griesbachklamm)

The "Big Griesbach Tour" begins in the same way as the "Small Griesbach Tour", but the path continues to the right after the second suspension bridge. After a few meters, the path leads us past a roaring waterfall. 🌊Little by little we march high above the gorge towards the second waterfall. Then there is a wide valley with sandbanks where you can play and relax. Here we took a break, the kids had fun playing here. 👧🏻👦🏻 Past the sandbanks and along the narrowing valley towards a crossroads. Here we took the left path that leads over the bridge and visited the Griesbachkanzel viewpoint.⛰️ Then we hiked back to the parking lot via the historic lumberjack path through the magical mixed forest. The ascent was exciting and exhausting for our daughter at the same time 👧🏻 My watch had problems finding GPS in the gorge, as you can see from the recording, but the distance, as stated on the internet, is the same at 6.1km.

Nice hike for families with slightly older children. We did the big Grießbachklamm loop. Unfortunately the weather wasn't that great today. Beware of the time given for the Almenrunde. That's not true in my opinion. It's actually much longer.

This hiking tour is a wonderful nature experience. A rushing torrent partly accompanied by footbridges and narrow paths between high rock formations, waterfall and suspension bridges and for families in the 2nd half the opportunity to take a break close to the water. There the children can experience the water on shallow rubble islands. In this medium-sized "big round" it was then back on good forest roads over the great Lärchenhof hotel complex. Clearly this Tyrolean highlight is experiencing a large number of visitors. The parking lot is usually full by noon. Overall, however, a must in Tyrol

Today, we hiked the long Grießbach Loop again in the pouring rain. It leads along beautiful forest paths through the beautiful Grießbach Gorge and back down the other side of the Grießbach stream to the Grießbach Gorge hiking car park. The route through the gorge is partly over suspension bridges and wooden walkways, but these are always secured with wire ropes.

Today we tackled the big round in the Grießbachklamm and were not disappointed 🥳👍🏼 A highlight for children and it was great fun 💦🥾🎒 The paths on the wooden walkways and suspension bridges are of course particularly beautiful, but the rest is great too 🤩 The girls had fun and it never got boring. The pictures should show what I mean😃📸 Have fun everyone who also wants to hike here🗺⛰✌🏼 Please put on sturdy shoes🥾😉

Bad weather was forecast... Klamm is always good!

Off to nature! In the first part of the gorge, you go through a wild and romantic gorge, which is easily accessible at the narrow points thanks to footbridges and suspension bridges. The ascent is gently ascending and can also be managed by less ambitious hikers. However, good shoes are strongly recommended... To round off our Alpine hiking week, we headed to a beautiful gorge today, and what can I say...it was worth it. Beautiful nature in a breathtaking setting 🤩 A beautiful natural path ⛰️ on the banks of the Grießbach stream 🏞️ So if you're ever here, you should definitely do it. Wonderful tour ☺️
