The Kitzbüheler Horn is certainly the most visited peak in Austria. Nevertheless, this tour is always worthwhile in connection with the Hornhöhenweg. Great view all around. The summit can be hiked or conquered by mountain bike or cable car.
Today we took the cable car 🚡 from St. Johann to Harschbichl. From there, we ascended via the panoramic trail to the Kitzbühler Horn. Our efforts were rewarded with a fantastic view 🥰. 6 km doesn't sound like much, but the steep climb was quite a challenge 🥵. And the fear 😱 was also present again, as the path was narrow and there was a steep drop to the right. But even so, today was incredibly beautiful❣️
A difficult hike where you should be able to climb.

That was already very exhausting today, but nature... and even marmots...😉 Pressed break too late up in the Alm. There can be another 100 m away 🤣
An excellent 6.2-kilometer tour with 520 meters of elevation gain took us from St. Johann to the Harschbichl mountain station at over 1,640 meters above sea level. Wonderful rocky mountain paths with magnificent views lead us up to the summit of the Kitzbühler Horn. We quenched our thirst at the summit hut before descending around the Horn to the Harschbichel and, with a 180° turn, returning to the starting point. This is a hiker's heartbeat.
A dreamy classic. From the Harschbichl mountain station, the first climb was on the Jägersteig with a moderate incline on the imposing Horn. The view was gigantic, both on the Horn and on the surrounding pastures and mountains. After a good kilometer it went up steeply over a cow pasture. We even spotted a marmot on the way. We descended again via the via ferrata Ludwig-Scheber-Steig.
Distance 6.1km and 507m elevation gain - watch was in pause mode too often because I had to take 198 pictures 🤣
