This route in the heart of the Blanche valley offers a loop of approximately five kilometers, accessible to all. The route leads to the discovery of a site almost 20,000 years old: the Grosse Pierre.
The departure is in the center of Quellenet. This family ski resort ensures a charming welcome in summer and winter. You leave the village following yellow markings then a short portion of the GR 6. The route then crosses the course of the Blanche before heading towards Haute-Liberne.
Just before the last farm, the path goes left through fields. You follow a pleasant section which offers a beautiful view of the valley before reaching the Grosse Pierre. This five meter high erratic block dates from the last great glaciation. At that time, the Blanche valley was located at the southern European limit of the ice-clogged valleys.
The hike continues in a pretty wood before ending on a part which takes place along a departmental road. Stay vigilant until you find the starting point in the center of Quellenet.
