Eze extends over three ledges. This hike begins on the Basse Corniche, in Eze-Bord-de-Mer, a small seaside resort with Belle Époque villas. The route starts at the station and takes you near the beach, where you can make a first stop.
The Nietzsche trail, named after the famous philosopher who stayed several times on the Côte d'Azur, leads to Eze-Village. This medieval village, perched on a rocky promontory of the Middle Corniche, charms with its shops, artisans, hotels and starred restaurants. At the top, an exotic garden set in the ruins of a medieval fortress offers, in good weather, a panoramic view as far as Saint-Tropez.
Although you do not cross the Grande Corniche, where the La Revère natural park extends, the summit of Mont Bastide allows you to see it in the background. The descent takes you back to Eze-sur-Mer station.
