Today we hiked the Eschenrod Reservoir Tour🚶🏼♀️➡️🚶🏼➡️. The starting point was a car park 🅿️ at the entrance to Eschenrod🏘️. We had decided to hike the route🔄, which was rated as medium difficulty, anti-clockwise. About halfway through the route, we reached the lowest⬇️ point of the tour, the Nidda Reservoir, via soft meadow and forest paths, many beautiful trails and occasional farm tracks. From there, in pleasant T-shirt👕 weather🌞, we first went to the sequoias, before then heading slightly uphill↗️ back🔙 to Eschenrod🏁. In our opinion, a beautiful🤩route, which can mostly be completed away from large crowds in beautiful nature👏🏻.
This is a great thing for anyone interested in nature 🌳🌲... The paths are well signposted, and you can't get lost.🥾
A round of fresh air - in another region, the Vogelsbergkreis, with lots of open spaces and panoramic views. The highlight and destination were the mammoth trees and the path over the Altenburgkopf. It was nice 🤩
It was really chilly in the morning...but then the ☀️ came. It was a super relaxing hike with fantastic views and pure nature...highly recommended. 😍
Today was my first hike in the Vogelsberg. Of course, I have been to the Vogelsberg several times before, but not for hiking. The vegetation here is different than in the Taunus, for example. I think that's because it's fertile volcanic rock. It was around 30°C today and some of the sections through the forest were quite pleasant, especially in the second section of the tour. The sequoias are impressive. The Creator has come up with a great idea that some of these trees are dependent on forest fires. Climate fanatics probably won't like that at all. On this beautiful summer day ☀️ (a pleasant 26 degrees) I just had to do a little walk. The Niddastausee has been on my list for a while. I was a little disappointed because the route along the lake runs through the forest and you can hardly see the lake. But the trails were pretty nice. In general, it's a varied route that scores with great views, for example of the Hoherodskopf and the Feldberg. Info: https://www.vogelsberg-touristik.de/detail/id=6596af18af38ae88b43f0647
This week we are traveling in a region that is new to us. We have extended our stay in the Wetterau and Vogelsberg districts after helping our relatives move 😉. The premium tour runs from Eschenrod through forest and wide fields, past the Nidda reservoir and the very impressive sequoias. A comfortable and extensive tour that offers a lot of variety in terms of landscape.
In the finest sunshine today we finally did a new round for us. That's how a second day of Christmas can be "beared" 🥰
