It's off to a good start - we just missed the bus we wanted to take from the train station to the SC Geislingen car park. So our tour started at the train station to the actual starting point at the SC car park in Eybacher Tal. It starts on Jürgen-Klinsmann-Weg, we cross the road to Stötten and immediately turn left again into the forest. A zig-zag path leads steeply uphill to the 647 m high Anwand rock - endurance is required! You will be rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view of Geislingen and the adjacent side valleys. Limestone used to be quarried here and brought down to the valley with a cable car. Remains of the concrete pillars of the cable car can still be seen. We now hike further along the Albtrauf in the direction of the Himmelsfelsen, the landmark of Eybach, with wonderful views of the valley and thus an ideal place for our "Päusle". The sky rock is 609 m above sea level. The 65 m high cliff was conquered by two mountaineers for the first time in 1934. Hoheneybach Castle was located on the Himmelsfelsen in the 13th century. For us it goes on. We walk downhill on a forest path to Eybach. The small village is our next milestone. Through the idyllic town center you get on the Felsentalstraße, past a small mill, the oil mill, to the entrance to the Felsental. Slightly uphill, it goes past a wayside shrine through the wildly romantic Eybacher Felsental. We almost feel like we are in a gorge here in the Felsental. The tall trees to the left and right give the impression of being in a wild, remote valley. At the end of the valley, it then goes up the striking stairs at the rock formations to the exit. Arrived on the Alb plateau, the path leads towards the village of Weiler. We stop for a drink at a hiking car park with large boulders before we continue hiking along the Albtrauf over forest and meadow paths to the Bismarck rock. From the Bismarckfelsen (640 m), thanks to the good weather, we can really see miles into the distance today, blue sky, the best weather. That's how it should be! From there you walk downhill on a narrow serpentine path in the direction of Geislingen back to the starting point. Before the train comes to Stuttgart, we enjoy a cool “hike end beer” on “Bahnsteig 1”.
We start the tour at the parking lot in the Eybach Valley. This is a very strenuous hike. We follow the steep zigzag path up to the Anwandfelsen rock. From there, we enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the town of Geislingen an der Steige. We then continue along the ridge toward the Himmelsfelsen, the landmark of Eybach, with a wonderful view of the valley. We then hike through Eybach and through the wild, romantic rocky valley. After the striking steps near the rock formations, the path branches off toward the village of Weiler. Once we reach the Alb plateau, the path continues along the Albtrauf to the Bismarckfelsen rock. From there, we hike down a narrow zigzag path toward Geislingen an der Steige and back to the starting point.
On the way to the Lone Valley, the journey was too far for us. Spontaneously parked in Geislingen and walked the Löwenpfad. Brilliant autumn weather, beautiful forest trails. The yellow of the trees in front of the deep blue sky is an absolute autumn dream.

After a long hesitation, today I dared to do this Lion's Path 🦁 Geislinger Felsen-Tour 🪜. I usually always walk the same Lion's Paths 🦁... This one just put me off because of the two steep climbs... And then I was so excited when I walked through the fabulously beautiful rock valley. I felt awe-struck by the incomparable beauty of nature. It really is a privilege to live in this wonderful area💚💚 The path to the Bismarckfelsen and the path down to Geislingen were also very beautiful 😍 BUT then came the really ugly section along the edge of Geislingen to the opposite side. The climb to the Anwandfelsen was closed, so I looked for another option, unfortunately without success. So I climbed over the barrier and thought I would just act stupid when the forest workers complained 😂 The tree felling was also in full swing, but fortunately further to the right of the path.
A tour that has been planned for ages🤣🤣🤣 - today everything worked out: My husband had time and so did I🥰, the weather was ideal and in Eybach there was even a Feschtle (hat🎩👒 dance), where we ended the tour with 🍻. The climbs 🪨🪨🪨 had made us thirsty🤗
I used the day off and walked my first Lion Trail. It was the Geislinger Felsentour. ✔️ First I went up to the Bismarckfelsen, I was already sweating a little as I was still a little under the weather. The view from the top was great. Then over meadows and fields into the Felsental. And then another climb to the Himmels and Anwandfelsen. The view there was also magnificent. Met two people, otherwise nothing going on. Saw a slowworm, squirrel, jay and a few mice. Great for getting started, but not without its problems. 🦁
