Beautiful ridge hike from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock in glorious weather - it was extremely warm. Fortunately, the fog had completely disappeared....
Did a great balancing act yesterday. The view was always impressive and luckily the weather cooperated. The tour was actually planned the day before, but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. There are 2 ways to start this hike. Either you take the cog railway or cable car to get to Stooß. Then with the chairlift. Or you run upstairs. I drove to the tightrope walk. Sturdy shoes are required. Many steps...
Beautiful ridge hiking trail from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock. Always with great views on all sides. Vertically down to the left is Lake Lucerne, to the right the view falls into the Muotatal. But also very touristy 🤷🏻♀️. We took the cable cars to the top. Of course you could also hike the whole thing 🙃. A day ticket includes all cable cars, including the steepest funicular in the world (56 CHF) 😊👍
It was only about 400 meters of elevation gain and 6.5 km. The rest was 🚡 😉
The mountain railway to Stoos is the steepest funicular railway in the world with a gradient of 110%. Arrival at Stoos from Schwyz with the Schwyz-Stoos funicular (approx. 7 minutes) Walk to the valley station of the Klingenstock chairlift (approx. 15 minutes from the mountain station of the Schwyz-Stoos funicular) Uphill ride with the Klingenstock chairlift (approx. 15 minutes) Hike on the ridge hiking trail from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock (approx. 2 hours) Break 😊 (Viewing platform / Fronalpstock Hotel | Restaurant) Descent into the valley with the Fronalpstock chairlift (approx. 20 minutes) Walk from the valley station of the Fronalpstock chairlift Descent into Schwyz with the Schwyz-Stoos funicular (approx. 7 minutes The round trip with the cable cars cost 56 CHF, but it's worth it👍
To protect our knees, we took the 6-seater chairlift from Klingenstock down to Stoos.
Very demanding hike. It's very steep, even the ridge walk. But the effort is definitely worth it - fantastic views of the entire mountain range and Lake Lucerne. It can also be shortened significantly with the chair lift for those for whom it is too much
