Hiking
Many culinary highlights await you on the Chemin du Gruyère: a beautiful lake, a spectacular gorge, a medieval town and, finally, a cheese tasting. You start in the romantic mountain village of Charmey with its thermal baths and numerous chapels. First, you descend to the Montsalvens reservoir. Along its northern bank, you hike to the mighty dam, where the entrance to the Jaunbach Gorge is located (closed in winter).
You hike over bridges and through rock galleries through the wild gorge - limestone walls, glacial potholes and waterfalls are on the program. Near Broc, the old pilgrimage church Notre-Dame des Marches from 1636 is an inviting place to take a break. You continue your tour over the rustic wooden bridge Le Pont qui branle and then you go up to the famous Gruyères, after which the famous AOP cheese "Le Gruyère" is named.
As you stroll through the old town and the impressive castle, you will experience eight centuries of architecture, history and culture. Visit the Tibet Museum, the HR Giger Museum or sample delicious cheese at La Maison du Gruyère before reaching your destination at the train station.
