Lammer Gorge

Highlight • Gorge

The Lammerklamm is a natural spectacle that is well worth seeing. The power of the water that has created this impressive landscape is impressive. In the dark gorge, signs mark the flood level in different years.

The Mühlenrundweg is highly recommended in combination with the Lammerklamm. At Mühlenrundweg you pass a water-powered marble ball mill. Then a waterfall. The second was dry on our hike, but the sloping rock formations are of impressive beauty.

https://youtu.be/icFBSc6IAlY Today on our way to Croatia, we stopped at the Lammerklamm Gorge 😎⛰️ We paid the 9 Euro entrance fee and headed downhill ☺️ You start at the top 😁 The gorge itself is absolutely stunning. The detour was definitely worth it 🥰 The second part of the tour was a mill trail with 3 mills (of which only ruins remain) and 2 waterfalls (1 of which was only temporary, today it was dry 😅). Plus, a varied route over hill and dale. The loop was in no way inferior to the gorge. Very cool 😎 Before we headed back into the gorge and back to the car, we had a little refreshment at the Lammerklause 😎🥰

Parked hiking car park Oberscheffau First we went to the Lammer Klamm and Dunkelklamm. For this you have to buy a ticket by mobile phone. But with Mastercard you can easily do it online €8 entry per person Sure-footedness and sturdy shoes are the order of the day! Think the pictures speak for themselves. It's a shame that you can't add videos Afterwards we went on the Herzerl-Rund-Weg Oberscheffau. Lovingly designed path to the impressive Winnerfall and back to the car 🤩🤩🤩 3 x wow

Lammerklamm with Dunkelklamm and Mühlenweg form a beautiful round. Possession of a gorge entry ticket entitles you to exit to walk the mill loop and then walk back through the gorge to the starting point. The entrance fee of 8€ is a bit steep.

Today through the Lammerklamm. They are not long and difficult, but impressive nonetheless. After a rest in the Lammerklause we continued to the Mühlenweg. Beautiful path through the valley with many hearts. At the end there was the last mill and a lot is told about the story. The path to the Schwarzbachfall continued, very impressive, around 100m high. The path to the Winnerfall continues. Unfortunately, it had dried out, but no wonder given the karst rock. In the direction of the car we had to go through the Lammerklamm with a detour to the "Dunkle Klamm". It was another successful round...

Looking for "The Coolness" today. Admission Lammerklamm €8.00 per adult. Filming took place there (we assume for the mountain climbers). Then walked the circular route, really very nice, so I didn't skimp on photos😉...as always...

Out and about in the rain. The gorge was great. The view of the Salzberg was not great (closed on Mondays).

Even though these two destinations are close to each other, I had initially planned them separately. After a bit of research, however, I discovered that you can leave the Lammerklamm at the end via the ticket gate and re-enter later on the same day 👍. That was important to me, as the only alternative was the cycle path along the busy road 🫣. Parking for free just before the entrance, I was excited to see what awaited me in this gorge. After scanning my ticket, I turned right into the Dark Gorge 🌑, the access path to which can easily be overlooked. Here you were right in the middle of it, you could feel the pure power of the water and the rocks almost touched each other. Very beautiful 👍! We went back to the main path, which leads you relatively high up through the gorge. I was a bit confused by that at first 🤔, but the Lammerklamm is definitely wilder and not a family gorge like the Almbachklamm from my trip the day before. At a good kilometer long, it is also significantly shorter, but still has its own charm, in that you can simply watch the power and effect of the water from a respectful distance 👌. When I arrived at the end of the gorge, I left it through the lock as mentioned and walked via Oberscheffau through the forest 🌲 on a wide path steadily uphill along the Schwarzenbach to my next destination. In the meantime it had started to rain again, but equipped with an umbrella ☔️, this didn't bother me at all. What really bothered me, however, were these filthy horseflies that don't leave you alone even when it's raining and have lost all right to exist for me 😡. So I used my umbrella more to ward off and protect myself from the rain. When I arrived at the planned turning point of the round, it wasn't far to Winnerfall. I knew that it doesn't always have water and a suspicious calm already announced my fears. Despite the rain, it was bone dry. A sentence with x...🫣 So we continued quickly over partly wild root paths and the real highlight was still waiting for me. Here the acoustics also announced a few more drops 😂, until I stood in the water mist in front of the Schwarzenbach waterfall. A really great sight 🤩, for which the extra walk was definitely worth it. After I had passed the pretty old mill, I walked back to Oberscheffau across open terrain including a beautiful mountain view. I was able to enter the Lammerklamm again via the lock and quickly walked through again from the other side. There are definitely worse ways back to the car 😆. Despite my four-step plan today, it wasn't that late and so I had enough time in the accommodation to plan my next goals 😉.

Today, still no sunshine, but dry. 😊 The beginning would be made. 😇 Discovered the Lammerklamm on the way here and made it unsafe today. It's not very long, about 1km, but it's somehow spectacular. And after all that rain, the water thunders through so that your ears will soon fly off. 🙉😅 But since that wasn't enough for us, we went to the Winnerfall afterwards. We would never have dreamed that we would finally pass what felt like 5 waterfalls. 🙈 My goodness what a background noise. 😵‍💫 But gorgeous. 😂 And we also liked the cute old mill that had been out of service for a long time. 🥰 Now we're back in the room and how could it be otherwise, now we're waiting until we can go out to eat. 😋
