A very nice tour that just puts you in a good mood. This time we went with our Lagotti hiking group (Italian water dogs)🐾
The Goldener Kopf tour in Elzach is a varied circular hiking trail in the "Black Forest Hut Corner," known for its panoramic views and the eponymous summit cross. The loop in the "Two Valleys Region"—certified as a "Quality Region Hiking in Germany" by the German Hiking Association—is characterized by a constant alternation between forest and meadow landscapes, as well as expansive views over the Elz Valley. Shortly after starting at the Elzach train station, I quickly left civilization behind and immersed myself in nature. A pleasant path gradually led me uphill, through a longer stretch of forest, and later along lush meadows down into the Reichenbach Valley. After a short, steep climb to the scenic Reichenbacher Eckle, the trail led through another section of forest before I reached the Schrahöfe farms near Prechtal via a gravel path. The Elz Valley Trail—a beautiful path along the rushing Elz River—led me to the final ascent through the forest, up to a panoramic high plateau. At the highest point, there's a bench where I stopped to enjoy the fantastic view and the stunning panorama. After a few minutes, I reached the small, rustic fisherman's hut. Secluded, with two small ponds, it lies somewhat hidden behind trees in a hollow. Soon after, I stood at the cross and viewpoint "Goldener Kopf" (Golden Head), passing the Neunlinden Chapel, and then headed back to the train station. Today a hike from the offer: "Black Forest Hüttenwinkel". In bright sunshine and the ideal hiking temperature, we started at the train station in Elzach. The tour is very well signposted. Due to the ups and downs, as can be seen in the elevation profile, it is quite strenuous. I was no longer aware that 12km can drain me like that 😌 Conclusion: A great route with many beautiful views and rest areas. Definitely tackle it, preferably when the trees are green.
A beautiful path, requires some fitness, but you are always rewarded with beautiful views of the valleys. There are always benches to rest on. The route is very well signposted.
Start and finish of this tour at the train station in Elzach. Actually, this is a hiking tour, which we made into the NW tour without further ado 😊. Perfectly signposted and beautiful paths. Something of all types of paths. Nice, but with the constant up and down, then also a crisp round 🏃🏻♀️😎
A varied and beautiful tour. From Elzach, the route alternates between forests and pastures with fantastic views and lush green meadows. At the height of Ankenbühl, you have a beautiful view of the 1,000-meter peaks opposite, such as Rohrhardsberg and Braunhörnle.
Very varied tour around Elzach. At the beginning a bit much on wide forest paths and in between forced measures when crossing towns on asphalt, but very varied. Big plus points of this tour are definitely the multitude of beautiful valley views. In addition, you walk a lot along forest-free areas, which is nice especially on sunny days ☀️ But you don't have to do without narrow paths completely...... because there are always them here. Part of the tour also runs along the "bee trail" with its information boards and stations. All in all, an entertaining round that you can also do as a more demanding walk.
Because it was so nice to do the Golden Head Tour with a friend again at the end of the holiday, this time not that warm. You can do it again and again to run so well.
