Wonderful tour at almost 30 degrees through the vineyards of the Wachau with a unique view of the Danube valley. This is how you can enjoy your birthday.
Helga and Othmar are driving with us to the Wachau today. It's a belated surprise present for my birthday last year. First we have a delicious breakfast at the café on the jetty in Krems. Then they drive with us to Weißenkirchen to the car park by the train station and start hiking through the vineyards for a short stretch along the World Heritage Trail - unfortunately not up to the cross on the Kügerlwand. After a break with Otmar's good bottle of wine - hidden in his backpack - we fortify ourselves on a viewing bench. We continue hiking - past many flowers along the way - back to Weißenkirchen and to our starting point. For me and Gerhard, the hike could of course have taken much longer 😜💪🏽👨🌾🥾🙏. After all, you can't have everything. Afterwards, Otmar and Helga drive with us to the Dockner Heurigen at Kremser Frauengrund. Every guest is greeted with their own sparkling wine - it tastes very wholesome 👍 The entire cellar lane belongs to the winemaker and you can sit comfortably next to the vines and apricot trees in the huge garden. www.dockner.at The warm dishes and winemaker's snacks are all excellent - I can only highly recommend it - please reserve a table in good time - it is a popular meeting place.
