Do you like to sink your teeth into a really tough tour? The walk from Ronse to Lierde is over 30 kilometers long and takes you through the heart of the Flemish Ardennes. You walk through a beautiful fairytale setting with colorful forests and the occasional steep slope. Treat yourself to a farm ice cream at Bolleke Boe, just before you board the train back in Lierde.
Some highlights of this walk:
1. Music Forest
The Muziekberg, one of the most famous witness hills in the Flemish Ardennes, is home to this beautiful forest. You can walk here for hours, catch your breath on one of the benches with a view or admire the Geuzentoren.
2. Bos Ter Rijst
One forest is not the same as the other! After the Muziekbos you will discover the Bos Ter Rijst, with its numerous sources and majestic oak trees.
3. Brakelbos
Right on the language border you will find the next forest on this walking route, known for its bluebells. Every year, people from far and wide come to the Brakelbos to admire the purple sea of flowers.
