Hiking
The circular hike on the Kobern Castle Trail starts from the parking lot at the cemetery in Kobern-Gondorf, following a narrow, serpentine path that leads up to a high plateau. From there, you descend into the valley to the Gerlachsmühle mill.
The idyllic Keverbach Valley and the area around the Solligerhof settlement offer a diverse landscape: idyllic forest sections and babbling brooks are followed by stunning views, flowering hedges, and a cooling high forest.
Before you climb the next hill, you can refresh yourself at the Sauerbrunnen and Quidoborn mineral springs. The descent to Kobern takes you along the Way of the Cross and offers more impressive views. You'll pass both the Upper Castle and the Lower Castle of Kobern before returning to your starting point down in the valley.
Tip: It's worth taking a detour to the Celtic cult site, the Goloring, or to the Niederburg ruins before returning to the starting point.

https://www.traumpfade.info/pfad/traumpfad/koberner-burgpfad/ (GPX file included in the "interactive tour planner") Own rating: 5 / 7⭐ Start / finish: parking lot at the vicarage (free) Tour highlights: always beautiful distant views, Keverbach valley, mystical Goloring, Matthias chapel, medieval upper castle, view of the Niederburg ruins (possible detour) Briefly summarized: - only met a handful of people - a lot of narrow, adventurous paths 😎 - well signposted - Seating was available at regular intervals (not between km 6.2 and 9.6, if not even longer) - Road surface: mainly fields, forest, gravel/gravel, paved paths, pure rocky ground and a bit too much asphalt (including road) for my taste A beautiful route that you can try out. 🙃 It is not only varied, but also offers great views in many places. 🔭 However, the tour gets deductions because there was a bit too much asphalt here for me and at the beginning and towards the end of the tour there was simply too much traffic noise from the Moselle valley. 😔 I would probably only give the tour 4 stars at a different time of year, since the proportion of dirt roads here is very high and they can be pretty dreary if nothing grows on them. Note: Due to the many dirt roads with tall grass, you should check yourself thoroughly for ticks. ☝🏼
I have 3 tables with seating along the entire route, unfortunately nothing more. Rare for dream paths. The beginning is tough and tiring, then there is a nice narrow path through a kind of jungle area, nice and long along the stream and then it goes across the fields and meadows But it's boring for a long time, until you get to the castle, steeply on stony ground, to Kobern Gondorf at the old mill, where you can stop off for a delicious wine and a cozy atmosphere with a dog, also welcome in the restaurant.
Beautiful round, which is certainly even more beautiful with a little more green in spring! Great, varied paths, beautiful vantage points and a few highlights that are really worth seeing! The dream loops definitely keep what they promise 😊
On the way on the sunny Lower Moselle - which lived up to its name today!🌞🌞🌞
With a fresh 8 degrees and an overcast sky, we started on the Koberner Burgpfad dream trail. The route was varied, narrow mountain paths with a view of the Moselle, but also sections through meadows and fields. Several highlights made our tour an experience. One of them, next to the Koberner castle ruins with their fantastic views of the Moselle, was the Keverbachtal, which I had never seen before. Wood anemones and violets bloomed here. A narrow path with several small bridges/bridges leads through the valley. Along the entire route you will be accompanied by the babbling of the brook and the singing of birds. Just beautiful. But flora and fauna also worked hard on our tour. Wild tulips, wood anemones, forest violets, marsh marigolds and much more. As an encore, there was Reinecke Fuchs.
On this 🌹Monday 2022, the term "Traumpfad" has fully fulfilled its meaning. And at the end of this wonderful day we had dinner at the Höreth winery in the immediate vicinity of the start and end point of this hike. A pleasure for all senses. Table reservation is recommended.
Due to time constraints, we didn't manage to complete this dream trail during our last days on the Moselle in June. Instead, we did walk its "little brother" – the Tatzelwurmweg in Kobern-Gondorf, which also runs along the dream trail in certain sections. So, we made up for the dream trail today. There were no monsters in the Tatzelwurm Cave today either – we took another look inside. However, the Matthias Chapel was open, and there was wine too. All in all, it was another beautiful day on the Moselle. See you soon, your Bruno 🐾🐾 https://www.traumpfade.info/pfad/traumpfad/koberner-burgpfad/
