What a day! : ) Highly recommended tour through damp, cool forest sections, over sunny, warm meadows and fields, uphill and downhill. On a bench we enjoyed a small outdoor buffet with the most beautiful view of Engelsbach and Nette... simply wonderful :) Unfortunately we lost our way once, the signage was a bit confusing... but we still got the curve; D
The weather forecast for today, like the last few days, was "mixed and changeable." However, the rain radar indicated that it would remain dry in the area around Koblenz until 3 p.m. A long time ago, we had saved the Nette Romantic Path in our planned tours in Ochtendung. At 7.5 km long and a little over an hour's drive, it wasn't really a destination for a "day hike," but combined with the errands we still had to do in Lahnstein, it worked out. And Christian Häckl (RTL weather presenter) had said: The further you get toward Cologne Bay, the more consistent the weather becomes. So we set off right after breakfast, with a short stop in Lahnstein. The dream path doesn't offer a multitude of highlights or spectacular views, but it was still worthwhile. Towards the end of the tour, thicker clouds slowly gathered, but we made it to the car dry. It wasn't until we drove back into the Globus parking garage in Lahnstein that it started to rain. The rain gauge at home showed 7 l/m². So, we did everything right today. 😊👍
Today I hiked this dream trail with a colleague and I am thrilled. A really nice lap, unfortunately a section is currently a bit worn by forest work and did not run so nicely.

Even in the rain, a nice tour. In between we would have liked a seat.
After all the eating at home, it was unfortunately already quite late in the afternoon to undertake something bigger 😕 But the weather was so great that I absolutely wanted to do something anyway ☀️ So I thought briefly 🤔 My wife didn't want to go on a bike tour because she thinks it always escalates with me 😇 Therefore, put on hiking boots and off to Ochtendung where we hiked the short, but extremely beautiful "Traumpfädchen" "Nette-Romantikpfad" 👌
Once again one of the great dream paths. 😍 https://tourenportal.traumpfade.info/mobile/de/tour/wandern/traumpfaedchen-nette-romantikpfad/46670432/
https://www.komoot.com/de-de/collection/890629/-traumpfaedchen I last walked the Traumpfädchen in winter two years ago and found it very appealing, at least in the middle section. The field sections were very barren and bare back then, so rather unattractive. In summer, of course, it looks very different. The golden yellow grain shines in the sun for miles around, and mixed crop fields with peas and wheat look very interesting. Added to this is the colorful variety of plants that thrive along the path and cry out for attention. At least when I pass by. 😄 Field and bush paths alternate on the first part of the hike. Finally, we dive into a romantic forest on a small path. A stony section of the path leads quite steeply down to the Nette, which is surrounded by a very natural and wide floodplain landscape. Here nature lives its full life, everything grows in and around each other, we are surrounded by dense greenery. We meander through the green landscape on a clay path, the Nette is not yet visible. The valley becomes narrower and narrower, on one side high rock walls rise, on the other side the floodplain landscape narrows and the Nette briefly appears. The floodplain path ends at the confluence of the Engelsbach and Nette. From now on we follow the Engelsbach uphill to its source. Via a hairpin bend we reach a path above in a mixed sessile oak forest with rocky sections. In parts very light due to the low sessile oaks, then again dark and impenetrable due to the dense mixed deciduous forest. Beautiful and varied! We stop at a wave lounger and relax and enjoy the view over the dense and dark green Nettetal. A rugged rock wall towers behind us. The only viewpoint into the Nettetal! But it's a real challenge!! We get back to the plateau via a steep forest path. We entered the "Nettewald" through a small hole between the trees, and through an equally small exit we come back into the light and walk across the still colorful fields back to Ochtendung. We pass dense stands of spotted hemlock, which I have never seen in this size before. Our tour ends at a large parking lot in Ochtendung. Conclusion: A very beautiful route that exudes its charm in summer and can be fully enjoyed. Little asphalt, field paths, rocky sections of paths and trails.
