Wiriehorn (2,304 meters)

Highlight • Summit

The Wiriehore peak at 2,304 m can be reached without any major obstacles. The hiking trails are not exposed and you don't need to use your hands anywhere (no very steep passages). But of course they are still mountain hiking trails with a lot of elevation gain 😉.
Very beautiful panorama of the mighty Bernese Alps and a clear, wide view to the west. You also have a fantastic view to the north of the Gantrisch/Stockhorn chain. 👍🏻

I've had Wiriehorn in Diemtigtal on my agenda for a while now. ✅ Done! In terms of length and altitude, the tour is not one of my short tours, but it is not particularly demanding either. All paths are well developed and manual effort is nowhere required. No exposed passages. The panorama was a dream for me 🤩. From the Wiriehorn you can see the mountains of the Stockhorn/Gantrisch chain all the way to the Freiburg Alps, all perfectly lined up. All my mountains 😅, which I usually only see partially or from a different perspective. I could tick off one or two peaks 😊. The circular tour around the Wiriehorn and also the extra detour with >300 m to the summit are probably very popular days. On the way I met a number of English speakers and many from our northern neighbor. Everyone had a perfect week of “fall vacation” hiking 🤩☀️

Very nice round with summit ascent. Easy hiking summit with great views all around. A little more relaxed with the use of the chairlift.

First, we took the lift 🚡 to Nünegg, then it's only one way to the summit... up 👆 amazing panorama, the loop can also be done without summiting the Wiriehorn. For the end of May, there's still a lot of snow in the summit area. It's lovely to see the flowers starting to bloom everywhere. Even with the lift, the tour is quite strenuous (poles help), otherwise highly recommended!

Did the tour https://www.komoot.de/tour/281458139 again today, but this time the other way around and in warmer weather 😅.

A circular hike from the Wiriehorn chairlift mountain station. A very beautiful panoramic view. You'll have to work up a sweat to earn it, though, as you gain practically all of the elevation gain in the first 4.2 km. The descent is a bit more moderate, as you can cover a good 5 km of elevation gain... Depending on your preference, the tour could also be hiked in the opposite direction. If the snow is gone, you could also make a detour to the 2304 m high Wiriehorn (a gain of 300 m).
