This mountain hike takes you into the impressive summit world of the Rothorn and the idyllic Sanaspans side valley. Along the way, expansive panoramic views, a rustic alpine pasture, a waterfall, and dreamlike views over Lenzerheide and the Grisons mountains await you.

At the beginning, you walk to the valley station of the mountain railway and ride up to the Rothorn. From the summit station, you hike down into the secluded Sanaspans side valley. Between alpine meadows, small streams, and untouched nature, you will have dreamlike views of the surrounding mountains.

A little later, you reach Alp Sanaspans. Here you can try, among other things, Salsiz, a local air-dried or smoked raw sausage. Afterwards, the path leads you further down towards the waterfall, where you can get a wonderful refreshment.

Via Crapera, you finally hike back towards Lenzerheide. To conclude, you can relax at the Lido or enjoy a cozy stop in the village.

The Riesen Parpaner Rothorn, Aroser Rothorn, Piz Mez and Lenzerhorn form a mighty mountain cirque up here, from whose slopes, especially in spring when the snow melts, many small rivulets flow down. At the Alp Sanaspans, they collect and form the mountain stream Aua da Sanaspans there. This stream plunges about 40 meters down over two stages at the deep rock cut, thus forming the impressive waterfall. This can be seen well from the hiking trail, but only an unsecured, unmarked game trail leads to the foot of the waterfall.

Nearby there is a great barbecue area with a fixed barbecue pit, a well, and wooden tables.
