This route was planned by komoot.
The tour is partly signposted as Bike Bachalpsee 341. You can park in Grindelwald under the tourist information for 17 francs (that's normal price in the region and okay). Then you start and follow the main road uphill towards Grosse Scheidegg. Until then it is the highest climb of the tour. Then continue in the direction of First, where the bike can be connected and you can run a lap on the Panorama Walk. And from there continue in the direction of Bachalpsee. The cycle path and hiking trail separate briefly from each other. Arrived at the lake there is enough time for pictures and a break. Strengthened or recovered, the demanding descent follows, simply follow the signs again. Depending on your ability, some of the sections are very demanding. If you continue to follow the signs, the tour ends again at the tourist information. If you want to avoid the ascent, you can also take the bus (suitable for transporting bikes) to Grosse Scheidegg.
As is typical for us, we headed towards Große Scheidegg in 25 degrees in the shade and in the bright sun. The view was a dream, the climb that day was a nightmare. When we arrived at the inn, exhausted, we were given 1.5 liters of Rivella for each of us, which was gone after 10 minutes. The landlord was amazed. We continued towards First. Walked around it once and continued to Bachalpsee. From there, the wonderful trail down to Grindelwald. A great circuit with a wonderful panorama.
With the temperatures up to 30'C in the Mittelland, I would not have thought that snow would spoil our planned tour today. The plan was to go from Grindelwald to the Faulhorn and from there to the Schynige Platte. The timing would have been ideal, as the Schynigen Platte Bahn will not open until July 1st due to construction work. starts operation. Out of consideration for the hikers, you should not cycle this route during the summer season. We started in Grindelwald, then 1000m up to the Grosse Scheidegg and then via First to the Bachalpsee. From the First to the Bachalpsee it was almost an Asian people slalom. 🎎🎎🎎🎎🎎🎎 🎎🎎🎎The beautiful weather attracted hundreds of people there and almost like at a pop concert, everyone had their cell phones in the air! 😂 But then it was finished for us. We were amazed that the lake was still partially frozen and that there was still a lot of snow behind it in the direction of the Faulhorn. The snowmelt will probably take about two more weeks. So we enjoyed our sandwich and the calendar panorama in the company of many others. After that, plan B came into play, for better or worse, and luckily we were pretty much alone again. The Bachalpsee Trail down to Grindelwald is really cool and offers a wide range of trail fun. Due to the shortened program, we then had some time in Grindelwald, again in the company of many others, to cool off with a delicious ice cream café. Not bad either!😋😎
From Grindelwald to Bachalpsee and see how the situation is there.. If it is possible, the tour continues to the Faulhorn and the Schynige Platte. The preliminary information has already shown that snow has to be expected and in fact there was still heaps of it lying around! For this we take the Bachalpseetrail under the wheels. It's really cool!! Some tricky spots, mostly quite flowy and a mega impressive panorama included!! This trail is really fun!! ... and I love Grindelwald anyway!! Simply beautiful, this day in the Bernese Oberland!!
Bachalpsee for the second time. This time I probably caught all the trails to Grindelwald - I have to say it was a lot of fun. But the downhill definitely has nothing flowing! Large parts of the route are S2.
Super nice tour in or from Grindelwald, especially nice the view ⛰️☺️😉😘
After Verena had to wait for hours on the Grosse Scheidegg the day before as a checkpoint for the Eiger Bike Challenge, today it was high time for a trail session together! The mighty giants of rock and stone and the blue shimmering glaciers form the impressive backdrop and so nothing stands in the way of a fun-filled day! For me, the Bachalpseetrail is one of the classics and is always great fun to ride!
Brilliant area, great views and challenging long runs!
