This route was planned by komoot.
Today Lina and I took advantage of the great weather and did a tour of @Haßberge Tourismus e.V. that I had already planned in July. We only changed the start/finish a little, as there is a charging station in the car park behind the train station. The tour was really beautiful and perfect for autumn. The two castle ruins are lovingly maintained and a lot of things are explained on signs. A big compliment also goes to the perfect signage of the adventure tour. You could manage perfectly without an app. A small downside at the end was the stretch of path along the federal and then the state road. But unfortunately there is no other way. In any case, a clear recommendation, even as a Sunday outing. And really very easy to do with a dog. 🐕🦺🥾☀️
The two castle ruins and the little palace are definitely worth seeing, otherwise unfortunately there are a lot of forest highways. But it was definitely not the last time I was in the Hassbergen... ✨✌️
I've walked this hike before, but as a shorter tour. Now with the Raueneck castle ruins, I find the hike a bit nicer👍👍👍. Interesting hike
The start of the hike was the “Eiswiese” car park in Ebern, and here we met the “Red Tower” trail marker for the first time, which we mostly followed today. On the street “An der Eiswiese” and the back ditch path we came to the cemetery, where we looked at the Marienkapelle from the outside. After that, we went over the traffic roundabout to Bahnhofstrasse. The sign “Zum Judenfriedhof” hangs on a street lamp at the level of a parking lot and can easily be overlooked. After passing the parking lot, we walked along the factory premises to the left, only to continue to the right a little later. At the end of the factory premises, we went up slightly in the forest to the Jewish cemetery (only accessible during guided tours). But we could see him over the wall. We continued our hike on the path and came to a fork in the road. While the signposted path continued to the left, we kept to the right because we wanted to go to a refuge with a beautiful view of Ebern. After we had captured the view photographically, we hiked on a path directly opposite the rest area uphill to a gravel forest path. On this we turned left and came quickly to the connecting road Rotenhan-Kurzewind. We crossed the road and shortly afterwards turned left into a path leading down into the valley. After about 400 meters we reached the ruins of the Rotenhan Castle, which we explored extensively. Here we met the “Red Tower” marking again, which we now followed to Rotenhan. In Rotenhan itself we could have shortened by the Friedhofsweg, but the marking “Roter Turm” brought us over the Rotenhanweg and the Kellerhausstraße to an imposing oak. Afterwards we continued down the valley directly to Eyrichshof Castle. We could only visit the castle from the outside and the castle church was unfortunately locked. After visiting the castle, we carefully walked along Juliusallee to the left to the end of the building and then continued on the path to the left. From here the signposting of the path was exemplary again and we could follow it without any problems. After we had crossed the Baunach on a bridge and got to the other side through a pedestrian tunnel under the B 279, we walked purposefully through the harvested fields and later through mixed forest towards the ruin Raueneck. Once there, we were impressed by their size and took the opportunity to rest on a small hill for our lunch break before we explored the ruins. Then we wanted to go to the Jungfernstein, but this ultimately failed due to the nature of the path. After clearing, there is now only a footpath (formerly a hiking trail) that leads down through the brambles to the valley. Because of the risk of injury, I have removed this detour from the recording. Back at the castle we followed the “Red Tower” again on a path to the fairy fountain. Immediately behind it we walked straight ahead on the path, before after some time we went right downhill to a forest path. We followed it to the left and over a hairpin we reached a path going off to the left above Vorbach, still in the forest. On this we continued our hike and finally reached the edge of the forest. We hiked on a field path that ran parallel to the edge of the forest for a short time, before it led to the right through the field corridor to a fish pond at the Vorbacher Graben. From here an asphalt path brought us to the center of Unterpreppach. We used the seating area there again for a short drink break. Then we walked out of the village via Ruppacher Weg and Salzgasse and after a parking lot we turned left onto a dirt road. We liked this route variant better than continuing on the heavily trafficked Ruppacher Weg. At the end of the field path we met again on the signposted path, which now brought us to the football field on a hill. There we turned left into the bike path. On our further path (different path conditions) to the B 279 we passed two fish ponds and some distance away from Ruppach. On a path running parallel to the B 286, we reached the St 2278, which we had to cross in order to finally reach the starting point on the other side of the street.
Let's start from the Rotenhan castle ruins car park, which we only want to visit at the end of today's tour. About 100 m along the road, turn left on a narrow path in the direction of Eyrichshofer Schloss🏰. Here you can briefly visit the castle courtyard and then go through, further direction sign Burg Raueneck. Through the tunnel of the B279 we pass the woolly pig enclosure, which is just romping about here. Follow the path further, go on the dirt road then forest path to the ruins of Raueneck. The sun is beating down here ☀so strong that we were looking forward to the fairy spring, but it had dried up and we continued on our way without refreshment and pure sun in the hope of a shady resting place for our Trangia. Also at the fishing pond just before Unterpreppach we went further because of the smoking ban. And indeed we found a nice rest stop at the fire station in Unterpreppach with permission 😀, a very nice lady for our rest. Economies are scarce here anyway. We continue in the direction of Ebern to the former Balthasar Neumann barracks in Ebern. We actually wanted to go to one of the great beer gardens, but they only open from 5 p.m. Well, after all, soft drinks are also available here at Norma. What else do we have left 😁. In Ebern, a short ice cream in the old town and via the Walk-Strasser-Anlage ring road to the Bahnhofstrasse in the direction of the Jewish cemetery. Then we continued in the direction of the starting point with a visit to the Rotenhan castle ruins and our car for the way home was parked nearby.
Before I'll heat up the grill later for a tasty Father's Day barbecue with Family & Friends, I treated myself to a fine Solo-Ründla in/around Ebern (Hassberge district) early in the morning! 🥾😇🎒🔜🫂🔥🥩🥖🍻🥳 The two castle ruins (Rotenhan and Raueneck) we drove to, which were bursting with a mystical and historical atmosphere, were my absolute highlights today, where I was also very happy to "let off steam" in terms of photo motifs! 🏛🌿⌛️📸🤩🙌🏼🔝 Eyrichshof Castle, which we "collected" along the way, was also very pleasing with its well-kept inner courtyard and beautiful exterior views. 🌳🏰🛡👌🏼 The way back to Ebern via the Weite Flur after the great time at the Raueneck castle ruins took a little longer, but at least I always had the bright May sun on my face. Finally back in Ebern, I was able to convince myself of the interesting and varied old town, with lots of half-timbered houses, towers and a really chic market square, before I happily made my way back to my home town of Aischgrund with my barbecue hunger have! 🐗⛲️🗿🏘 ⚪️That's bass already!🔴👍🏼
Unfortunately, we had to turn back on the way to the Raueneck ruins. The path was closed due to tree felling work.
Great round in the Hassberge in cloudy and quite muggy weather
