This route was planned by komoot.
The circular route conveniently starts and ends at the Schradlern car park in Jochberg. This makes it easy to access and complete the loop.
The full loop, which is about 9.3 kilometers long with an elevation gain of around 503 meters, generally takes about 4 hours to complete. There is also a shorter version of approximately 6.4 kilometers that can be done in about 2.5 hours.
This hike is classified as moderate. While generally accessible, some sections may require sure-footedness, and a good basic fitness level is recommended for the longer, more challenging parts.
You'll encounter varied terrain, including gravel paths, designated hiking paths, and alpine paths. The route also includes sections that were recently rebuilt, ensuring a good hiking experience.
The primary attraction is the impressive Sintersbach Waterfall, with its 85-meter drop. Other notable points include the Wildalm Mountain Hut, and the Bridge Over the Sinterbach Gorge. You'll also enjoy scenic valley views and alpine meadows.
The waterfall is particularly impressive and powerful after the snowmelt in spring and early summer. These seasons offer the most spectacular views of the cascading water. The trail is generally enjoyable from spring through autumn.
Given its moderate difficulty, the longer loop might be challenging for very young children. However, families with older children who have some hiking experience and good basic fitness should find it enjoyable. The shorter version could be a good option for families.
Yes, the trail is generally dog-friendly. However, always keep your dog on a leash, especially in areas with livestock or near the waterfall, and ensure you clean up after your pet.
Yes, the route often includes a stop at the Jochberger Wildalm mountain hut, which offers a great opportunity for refreshment and a break during your hike.
No, you do not need a permit, and there is no entrance fee to hike the Sintersbacher Wasserfall Runde. It is freely accessible to the public.
Yes, parts of the path, including new bridges and benches, were redesigned by Kitzbühel Tourismus after a landslide. Specifically, the path and bridges near the waterfall were rebuilt in 2023, enhancing the safety and experience for hikers.
Hey🙋♀️ today I was able to enjoy another dream day with a dream tour 😍 I also stole this tour from Daniela on komoot, thank you very much. All I can say is, it was wonderful 😍 The climb is a breeze because you can't stop being amazed. Always accompanied by the water that plays the most wonderful music the whole time. And then the waterfall - gigantic, I'll just say 😍 The break was also more than delicious, of course in this great setting 😍 The descent was over far too quickly and that's why I took a look around Kitzbühel afterwards. Lots of beautiful and rich people who were probably insulted that they couldn't wear their furs 🤣🤣 It was another wonderful day and I'm over the moon 🙏
Unfortunately, Komoot has suspended 2 times, so the total distance is 9.23km (Komoot stated this for my hiking friend), very nice hike and great alpine hut
Wonderful tour. Highly recommended. Very nice alpine innkeeper!
Even though the rain has finally stopped, we still looked for water today 😅 We went to Jochberg and from the Schradler car park onto the Sintersbach waterfall - Wild Alm circular trail. A very beautifully laid out path/trail always led along the roaring Sintersbach, always moderately uphill. We couldn't stop looking and taking photos 📷🤩, because water was flowing everywhere. And then far up in the forest this huge waterfall of 85m height, simply amazing! You can get very close to the water on a platform and the further path leads directly past it over wooden bridges and steps (danger of slipping 😉). You get soaking wet 😅🌊 Now a nice path up in serpentines. There are 2 benches with a great view of the waterfall. The path to the Wild Alm is now not far and the break with cheese dumpling soup and cake was very good. After a short rain shower, we set off on the descent over meadow and forest paths, strengthened. This tour was super nice ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
