My 2nd tour today: 💪 So I quickly made my way from the Edmund Probst Haus in the direction of the Seealpsee (the classic in the Nebelhorn area)... Lots of people on the way who of course also wanted to take a look at this emerald-green lake. I crossed 2 harmless fields of snow and was soon on my own. The actual gliding path was also challenging with many sections of rubble and narrow treads, and I also found the dry grass (Fig. 36) very slippery. But the sight of the Oytalhaus brought joy to a 🍺 and after further serpentines it was done. From there, the very beautiful path always goes along the Oybach back to Oberstdorf. Top tour!! ❤️
An amazing tour! Absolutely fantastic, but you'll need to be in very good shape.
A great but demanding tour. The hike leads over narrow paths on the gliding path in the direction of the Nebelhorn. There are some small climbing passages, some of which are marked with wire ropes. It's also worth looking back, the view of the Oytal and the Höfats is breathtaking. A few more exposed spots and then you see the picturesque Seealpsee. A great photo opportunity. The last ascent continues up to the saddle. Here you have a great all-round view. The last steps and then we are at the Edmund-Probst-Haus. Shorten the last part if, depending on the weather, take the cable car up the Nebelhorn. View: white on white Attention: The route requires absolute surefootedness. We do not recommend hiking the glide path when it is wet.
After the Lechweg it was still not over for Lisa, Janna and me. Now that we had warmed up to some extent, we headed back to Füssen in the Allgäu. A few more stages of the Allgäu hiking trilogy were on the program. The three hiking routes "meadow walkers", "water runners" and "sky strikers" lead through the different landscapes of the Allgäu and form a pretty ingenious network of long-distance hiking trails over 876 km. We started with what I consider a pretty ambitious sky-storming tour from Oberstdorf to the Edmund-Probst-Haus on the Nebelhorn. At the beginning it's a leisurely hike past the ski jump through the Oytal, always along the babbling, wild Oybach. We enjoy the idyll and mountain scenery for a long time. We could stop at the Oytalhaus, but since heavy rain is forecast for the afternoon, we prefer to continue hiking. The mountain peaks are already piling up in front of us, and I'm starting to get a glimpse of what lies ahead. And then I see the sign for the glide path with the clear indication "Alpine danger" ⚠️! Oh jeh, what have I planned there…. But now there's no turning back and I march on with my heart pounding. We soon cross a small river, and the path becomes more exposed, scrambling and steeper from meter to meter. In serpentines it goes along a narrow path through the rugged rock. Again and again, smaller passages are secured with ropes, so that my pulse is constantly racing. But the views of the valley and the impressive panorama of the Allgäu high Alps reward me for all the excitement. 🤩 We pass under the Gleitbach waterfall and I slowly creep uphill like a snail, meter by meter. This is definitely out of my comfort zone, and I calm down with the thought of the reward Kaiserschmarren at the cabin! The alpine ascent to the Seealpsee remains crisp and demanding, you should definitely not go on the glide path in the rain or in uncertain weather conditions! I've had the high mountain lake on my wish list for what feels like an eternity and I'm really happy that I can finally experience it live! 🤩 And after the hard ascent, the sight is even more of a reward! Passing the rear Seealpe, we now tackle the last few meters of altitude to the Höfatsblick mountain station and our overnight destination, the Edmund-Probst-Haus at 1,932 m. A short stop at the indicator saddle to really soak up the breathtaking mountain panorama, and then we're there! And I'm damn proud that I took my fear by the hand again and mastered the challenge! It was definitely not child's play, but worth every effort!! P.S.: We could have saved ourselves the subsequent cable car ride to the Nebelhorn at 2,224 m. The Nebelhorn lived up to its name... 😉 UPDATE 10/25/22: Now my detailed blog article on the Allgäu hiking trilogy has also gone online. If you want to come along on the mountain tours again, this way 😉⛰🥾: https://www.couchaway.de/wandertrilogie-allgaeu/
Due to a lack of battery, the entire tour is not recorded. From the Seealpsee we went uphill to the train station and the Edmund-Probst-Haus. From there we took the direct route, under the cable car cables, back to Oberstdorf. The tour is also very nice when it rains, the landscape then looks very mystical.
Hello Hello, we went up with the Nebelhornbahn today 🚆. Our tour started at the Höfats mountain station. Originally we wanted to go to the Gaisalpseen - but since we were a little late in time, we spontaneously rescheduled 🤷♂️ and first descended to the Seealpsee. From there we went down the Oytal-Gleitweg into the Oytal to the mountain inn there. The path is very demanding (.❗). You should already have some alpine experience, be sure-footed and not afraid of heights. After we had overcome the descent of just over 1100 hm 👍 we didn't miss the opportunity to stop off at the Oytal mountain inn 😀. I remembered the way from the inn back to Oberstdorf as dreary, corrosive and boring 🙁. I was teached a lesson. The path initially led paved through a beautifully landscaped avenue. Some time later the path turned left and so we came to the Oybach, whose rushing and roaring accompanied us now 😀😊. From where the Oybach flows into the Trettach, we follow the footpath on the left side of the Trettach back to Oberstdorf. Even if there were only a few HM uphill today and most of it was downhill, it was still a beautiful hike 😊🥰😀.
On the last day there was another decent descent from the Nebelhorn down over the glide path into the Oytal. Not an easy matter because of the rain last night, but we all got down safely. Overall, the weather was a dream, couldn't have been better.
We took the opposite route to our original plan. There was less rain on the steep glide path down to the Oytal valley, which reduced the glide 😊.

We chose this route because we wanted to climb the Nebelhorn... but we just wanted to. The path along the beautiful Oybach ends at the junction with the Dr. Hohenadl path and is diverted onto Oytalstrasse. The detour makes the route to the Oytalhaus mountain inn 3 km longer. From Oytalstrasse onwards
