Always a very nice short tour around the Luisenhütte.
Wonderful walk with the dogs in clear, cold weather. Lots of places where the dogs could drink. Not really crowded despite the great weather.
This circular route was very beautiful and varied 👍🏻🤩.
A wonderful varied round! Industrial monument, landscape and castle!
Another nice round of the Sauerland forest route. Varied paths, well marked (green W on a white background) Start and finish is the cultural monument Luisenhütte, parking lot, playground, small restaurant. Sights such as Wocklum Castle and Balver Cave are on the way. Conclusion: do it!
Today we did the circular route from the Luisenhütte again 😊 Unfortunately the paths were badly damaged due to tree felling 😕 but the scenery was great again 😁 If the Sahara sand hadn't been around, we would definitely have had some sun 🤷
ATTENTION: Shortly before the end of the tour there is a sign indicating that the bridge back to the car park is closed (see last picture) - no alternative is given. TIP: just turn left to the mill and from there back to the car park
https://www.burg-altena.de/museum/luisenhuette/ Luisenhütte Adventure Museum is fun for all ages. Part of the museum is currently closed due to renovations. Admission is free from May to October! There's a box where everyone can drop a small donation to show what their visit to the Luisenhütte is worth. The Luisenhütte began operation as a pre-industrial blast furnace in 1758 and was shut down in 1865 because it could no longer compete with the modern blast furnaces of the Ruhr region.
