On this tour you will get very close to the Rhine. You will cycle for miles along the river that characterizes Düsseldorf so much. Your Rhine adventure starts right in the center of Düsseldorf's main station.
You will encounter the water for the first time when you cycle over the Golden Bridge in the Hofgarten. The water of the Northern Düssel still flows beneath you. But just a few hundred meters later you will have the Rhine in sight. You will cycle over the impressive Oberkassel Bridge and can marvel at the city panorama. You may even see a few sheep grazing on the Rhine meadows.
From now on the river will stay loyally by your side as you roll along the well-developed cycle paths on the Rhine dyke. At the northernmost point of the route you will switch to the other side of the river and enjoy the panoramic views from there. Before you cycle back to the main station, you will cross the Rhine twice more. Then you will have really seen the mighty river from all perspectives.

Yesterday's tour before Christmas was doing really well again. Little going on on the tour and just enjoy the fresh and cold air on the Rhine to the full. Clear your mind after your work is done.
Who knows that too? Actually no desire to be active in sports, although you know that a bit of exercise is best to clear your head. Under the title #DUSshorties I would like to collect short tours under 1.5 hours - above all for myself :). The focus is not on taking as many sights as possible with you, but simply being on the move in the countryside. So that I can get moving quickly after a hard day's work without much planning.
After a day of sitting at work, I spontaneously felt like going for an evening bike ride along the Rhine. The sections on the left and right banks of the Rhine up to the airport bridge were wonderfully secluded, you could see the red setting sun. From the Rhine terraces you came back into the hustle and bustle, the old town was lively with lots of people finally enjoying the summer weather. Singers and bands provided musical entertainment on the stairs at Burgplatz and also at the KIT on the Kniebrücke. A lot of it is connected to the ongoing "asphalt Festival": https://www.asphalt-festival.de From the Kniebrücke you naturally had a perfect view of the Rheinkirmes, which has been raging on the Oberkassel Rhine meadows since last week. On Friday evening there will be the big traditional fireworks display again, which you shouldn't miss. All information about the Rheinkirmes: https://rp-online.de/nrw/staedte/duesseldorf/kirmes/rheinkirmes-2024-duesseldorf-feuerwerk-fahrgeschaefte-highlights-alle-news-und-infos_aid-70794803
Spontaneous short bike trip - wrong charging cable for mini power bank, ergo: few photos - but fine spring mood at the edge of the stream
World champion or death! According to the old Evel Knievel motto, I rode without consideration... No, of course not! I ride very carefully and with consideration for others. But if the road is clear, then you can burn a few more calories than usual. An average speed of 24 km/h on a Dutch bike, including city traffic... - that was a lot of fun today 🥵 (I'm now working on an average speed of 25 km/h 😂🙈). In the meantime, I'll read the texts under the photos... Enjoy!
