Hiking
The Marven Lake Trail in Fundy National Park leads through tranquil forests by the coast of New Brunswick. It’s a long hike from the ocean up to two beautiful inland lakes, where you’re likely to spot moose bathing and grazing in summer.
The car park for the trail is located above Point Wolfe Beach, a beautiful bay that’s definitely worth a visit before or after your hike. A well-maintained gravel path climbs gently through the forest to a plateau situated at about 200 metres (660 ft) before following the ridge to the two lakes.
There are campsites at both Chambers Lake and Marven Lake, allowing you to stop for a picnic or to admire the lake views. Marvin is the only lake in New Brunswick where you can spot the four-toed salamander, so keep an eye out for its bright white polka-dot belly.
