Hiking
Algonquin Provincial Park has numerous incredible hiking trails, one of which is the 8-kilometre (5-mi) Track and Tower Trail. The park boasts extensive forests, more than 2,400 lakes, impressive rock formations and unspoilt swamps.
An information board marks the trail entrance, and you can pick up a brochure with interesting facts about the various stations. You’ll discover two lakes and enjoy a spectacular view from the Skyfire Tower over the seemingly endless forest. You’ll follow part of the Old Railway Bike Trail, passing former railway lines that have now been reclaimed by nature.
The trail starts at a car park just off Highway 60. If this hike leaves you hungry for more, try out some of the other trails that explore the diverse nature of the Algonquin Provincial Park.
