Rouge National Urban Park is Canada's first and only national urban park, stretching over 79 square kilometres (31 square miles) from Lake Ontario in the south to the Oak Ridges Moraine in the north. With a wide variety of landscapes and activities, including 12 kilometres (7 mi) of hiking trails, cycling routes, water sports and more, Rouge National Urban Park is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Set out on this three-kilometre loop, leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind you. The Mast Trail explores the dense, green forests, the wide fields, and the gently flowing waters of the Rouge River and its tributary, Little Rouge Creek.
The Mast Trail has a fascinating history and follows a former logging route that was still in use 200 years ago. Today the paths are a haven of tranquillity – the perfect place to enjoy some peace and quiet before returning to the lively city life.
