This route was planned by komoot.
we walked the Bosensteiner Almpfad with our hiking group, the path has 8.9 km and an ascent of 420 m ... At the beginning you still walk over wide paths, but after about 3 km it changes to small paths. There are several shelters and one even with a schnapps fountain. Join us on this wonderful and very varied tour through the northern Black Forest ...... at some exposed rocks and viewpoints we have an amazing view. The start of the tour is the Ruhestein parking lot, which is very large and offers a lot of parking spaces ... there are several options for stopping off. From this parking lot you can go on various hiking tours ... one of the most famous tours in the area, for example. the Karlsruhe ridge. And today again just a short tour. Testing what's possible. Maybe in 2-3 months a long-distance hike after all?
The round is very varied, sometimes very open and hilly and then again rustic on small paths…. In addition the imposing rocks and in two places a lookout point, you should only do it when it's dry ... Only the first three kilometers of the tour are a bit boring, a video is coming this week
A short relaxing hike before the weekend shift 🙃 The Bosensteiner Almpfad trail is a beautiful hike in parts. Starting at the Bosensteiner Eck, the trail initially leads unspectacularly along forest highways through the forest. From the lift house, the trail continues along beautiful rocky paths and past viewing cliffs through a partly open landscape with fantastic vantage points.
I started my hike at the Kernhof. First, I made a detour to the old Lifthisli, where they serve ice cream and cold drinks. The Lifthisli is a relic of bygone times that reminded me of the early days of skiing in the Black Forest. After a few steps, the path leads gently downhill. The weather was clear, and I was looking forward to the scenic tour. After a steady descent, I reached the Scherzenfelsen. From there, I had a magnificent view over the Achertal valley, the Hornisgrinde, and the surrounding Black Forest hills. I paused for a while, enjoying the silence and the expansive view, before continuing on. The narrow path led me further to the Brennten Schrofen, a striking vantage point with an impressive rocky backdrop. Here, too, I took a short break and let my gaze wander over the slopes. It was those moments when you completely lose track of time. From there, I followed the Karl-Ross-Weg, a wide forest road. The path led through dense forest, across meadow slopes, and magnificent views opened up again and again. I enjoyed the interplay of sun, shade, and silence. Finally, I turned onto a narrow path that led me up to the Ruhestein. The climb was a bit steeper, but manageable. Once at the top, I treated myself to a break and let the wind blow around my nose. The view into the distance was definitely worth the climb. For the return journey, I took the old Ruhesteinstraße, which led gently downhill. The wide path was pleasant to walk on, and I was able to end the day in peace. Arriving at the Kernhof farm, I was tired but happy to have completed a wonderful tour that combined nature, history, and views in a wonderfully balanced way.
So today we're going on a tour with my wife, son and Mogli to slowly get back into hiking... In preparation for the upcoming holiday in Austria
The Bosensteiner Almpfad was a feast for the eyes and nose today. We started straight away across a freshly mown meadow 🤩. There was something to smell everywhere. Sometimes it was resin from the trees, sometimes a sweet scent of flowers. The paths were mostly to my taste, but there were also forest highways to cover some distance. I found the constant proximity to the roads annoying. There were lots of motorcycles with a rich sound on the road. Overall, the route is recommendable.
In the evening, the question was "Lynx Trail or Bosensteiner Alm Trail?" The choice fell on the latter. We started at Ruhestein via the B 500, first a good stretch down the valley towards Seebach. From the lowest point, there are beautiful paths up to the Kernhof. From there, a not entirely well-chosen path across the meadow is just like that 🤷♂️. On to Scherzfelsen with a fantastic view of the Achertal valley, and then past the Achern hiking lodge to the Brenend Schrofen. Here, too, a fantastic view of the Rhine plain and the Vosges mountains. And a look into the distance, which was not good, predicted black and a thunderstorm was approaching 😫. Here we are at the turning point of our tour, back through Bosenstein with a detour to the Kernhof to treat ourselves to a break 🍺. But the rumbling of the thunderstorm didn't keep us sitting for long, so we quickly returned to the starting point. We were lucky and even arrived in the 🌞 sunshine 💪😇🤪
