April 30, 2025,Hochgern über Hochgernhaus
The ascent from Marquartstein to the Hochgernhaus is technically more of a walk. For much of the stretch, wide, leveled luxury trails dominate, making them very easy to navigate. Only above the Hochgernhaus does the hiker enjoy a narrow path through pristine mountain terrain. Ankle-high hiking boots are therefore recommended for the final summit assault. Despite the simple technique, the …

2nd part of our tour. The view from the summit is incredibly beautiful ... you look at the Chiemsee, look at snow-covered mountain peaks. Simply fantastic.
Shocked in love with the great landscape. Arrived at the top quite exhausted ...
In between, also quite swore. But absolutely worth it. You should definitely do it.

Originally, only the tour to the Hochgernhaus was planned, but the paths and weather were so great that I had no choice but to go to the summit.

Remnants of snow were more fun than a hindrance.

Best regards

The Hochgern, my local mountain so to speak, shouldn't be missing when I'm in the Chiemgau. It was pretty muggy and hazy today ... so not that many photos.

Great view of Lake Chiemsee and cozy huts to stay in ❤️👍

The hike to the Hochgern summit is a beautiful day hike with enough altitude difference 🙂. The view of the Chiemsee is rewarding. A break at the Hochgernhaus is highly recommended 😉🍺☕

🅿️ The "Wanderparkplatz Hochgern" is a good starting point with many parking spaces. 👍

In fantastic weather, we went to the Hochgern today.
The first km went steadily uphill on a forest path.
Snow and mud alternated from the Hochgernhaus. On the ridge there was a nice blanket of snow, I followed the tracks.
Arrived on the Hochgern I was rewarded with a beautiful view of the Chiemsee.
A strenuous and super beautiful hike. …

Blisters ran despite blister-free socks 🙄, there's nothing like taping. Even if it was exhausting due to the summer temperatures, a beautiful summit tour and a great flora on the Hochgern.
