The small bear circuit in Oulanka National Park is the perfect trail for anyone looking for a varied nature experience over just under twelve kilometers. Right at the start, you will find a swinging suspension bridge over the Kitkajoki River, which accompanies you for long stretches. Sometimes it rushes past you close by, sometimes the trail runs higher with fantastic views over the river and waterfalls.
The path leads through rustic forest landscapes, with small huts appearing every now and then. It remains varied: a second suspension bridge is waiting to be crossed. Followed by a tough climb over wooden steps, which will leave you out of breath for a moment.
After a final stage through the fragrant coniferous forest and past small lakes, you reach the junction from the outward journey. From the old water mill, it is about two kilometers back to the starting point.
