Schwanberg-Tour

From the banks of the Main, this circular tour takes you up a steep incline to the Schwanberg with its impressive castle. The starting point is at the Bleichwasen car park in Kitzingen-Etwashausen and from there you head east to Rödelsee with a view of the Schwanberg. In this picturesque town you can visit Crailsheim Castle, where the municipality operates a tourist information office with a high-quality wine shop. The perfect place to try the region's wines. Just behind Rödelsee, with the Schwanberg in sight, you are spoiled for choice: just after Iphofen, you can go up the mountain or climb a Bocksbeutel (terroir-f Großlangheim). Ambitious and "terroir f" lovers turn left in the vineyards. To visit the terroir-f or the Hardthütte, you have to cross the county road to Wiesenbronn. The large Bocksbeutel in the vineyards invites you to take a break.

You then cycle back through the vineyards of the well-known Kronsberg, Rödelseer Küchenmeister and Schwanleite vineyards. There are two more terroir f points here: Rödelsee and Iphofen. Surrounded by a sea of vines, you climb around 200 meters in altitude before you are rewarded with a wide view from the Schwanberg. After you have thoroughly enjoyed the panorama and visited the magnificent park of the castle, you whizz down the same route again.

You cycle through the famous Rödelseer Gate into the picturesque old town of Iphofen. A walk through the winding streets is worthwhile and the wine shop presents the fine wines of the Iphofen winemakers. You cycle along the renaturalized Sicker to Mainbernheim, which is still surrounded by the massive city wall today. Via Sickershausen you reach the banks of the Main and with a view of the Mondsee island you return to the starting point.
