Public holiday, hotspot Monbachtal 11:00 am rain forecast. It does not work? Go then. Start 7:00. Two vehicles in the parking lot. The Black Forest is still sleeping. Through the gorge and through Monakam almost all alone. But then. Liebenzell has awakened. Everything goes towards the Monbach Gorge. Fortunately, we're back to the car now. The parking lot is fully booked and it starts to rain at 11 a.m. sharp. Everything done right. Getting up early was totally worth it today.
A wonderful round trip from Bad Liebenzell train station. First along the Nagold, then turn right, a short way along the road, which turns into a wider forest path (with exercise equipment🏋♀️). On this section you should also look back, because you have a beautiful view of the town with the Nagold river. We then followed a narrow path and shortly afterwards plunged into the enchanted Monbachtal gorge. On wonderful paths you walk along the Monbach through this dreamy gorge. 🥰 At km 6 you come to the Rolf-Hammann-Hütte (not open) but with a large barbecue area. A highly recommended tour that requires some surefootedness 🚶♀️🥾🎒🌲😊
Beautiful tour where you can escape the summer heat.
Holiday in the Northern Black Forest: today to Bad Liebenzell, from there through the beautiful and well-known Monbachtal. Due to the time of year and the weather (it started to rain towards the end of the hike) I was alone in the gorge and was able to take lots of pictures with plenty of greenery 😊. The path along the Monbach was easy, but there were a few narrow spots. I can imagine that it gets narrow there in the summer. On the way back we went through the spa gardens before it really started to rain.
This morning, @Chris🏝️ came to visit me in the Black Forest to hike through the Monbach Gorge with me. We met in Bad Liebenzell and first took a leisurely walk along the Nagold River until we reached the entrance to the gorge. There we fortified ourselves with ice cream and a Radler beer. The path along the Monbach stream climbs gently uphill. The water flows through the gorge, sometimes in cascades, over many moss-covered stones and tree trunks. Again and again we crossed the stream over large boulders, climbed up and down steps and stones, or hiked along narrow rock faces. At the end of the gorge, we continued along a narrow path along the Monbach stream before descending via Monakam back to Bad Liebenzell. Here the Beutelstein was waiting for us. A large red sandstone rock, similar to the rocks in the Dahner Felsenland, with a large hollow and bench. Here we found a perfect, dry, sunny spot for a rest. After coffee and cake, we took an evening stroll through the spa gardens. It was another beautiful tour today.
Very nice hike, we didn't see the kingfisher but the rest was beautiful.
Huhu 🙋♂️🙋🙋🏼♀️Today day 2 with @Annett in Bad Liebenzell. After a super good breakfast 🍳 we went into the second round with bag and baggage, to the Monbachtal. We were lucky 🍀 no thunderstorm 🌩 at night and no rain on our tour. So it went well again nuff 👆 towards Monakam, the way up was exhausting because it was very steamy 😓 but you just stop there more often 🤓 past the Bernhardtsbrunnen we reached the Monbachtal 😊 yes it is really beautiful there, the water 💦 splashed and the little birds 🐦 accompanied us with their singing 🎶. The creek crossings were mastered superbly, just a great atmosphere there. 👍 along the fitness trail and the Nagold 💦 we came back to Bad Liebenzell. Dear Annett, we experienced two wonderful hikes with you, thank you very much 😘 Have a nice evening 🙋♂️🙋🙋🏼♀️
Heavy rain this morning ☔️ We trusted the weather app and were rewarded 🥳 After more than 3 years, we went back to the Monbachtal 🤩 It was quite wet🙈 but not slippery due to the sandstone 👍🏻 Mosquitoes stayed away 🦟 It was extremely humid 🥵 The light was soooo beautiful, sorry for the many pictures 😁🤩 Enjoyed the wonderful Black Forest again 🤩👍🏻
