The island's circular path, mostly along the shore, offers beautiful views of the lake with its rest and swimming areas and the surrounding area. Numerous mature trees can be admired. Some of the small paths lead across private property and are lovingly maintained. The numerous well-kept antique houses and the well-being of the residents are striking.
Today we explored the island on foot. A much more intense experience than cycling. Hence the many pictures. Although unfortunately, the best impressions can't be fully captured in a picture.
Beautiful easy tour with many places to stop. Also very suitable for prams. Tip: Take an empty backpack and lots of small change with you. On the way there are always small stands with all kinds of delicacies that everyone can use in the kitchen. 😋
You have to take advantage of this beautiful weather and so it went without 🦮 to the island of Reichenau. Once around the island and good food had to be. Gorgeous day. Our Swabian sea is always worth a trip 😍
The ensemble of three churches on the island of Reichenau represents an exceptional example of an integrated group of medieval churches that have preserved elements of Carolingian, Ottonian and Salian architecture. With a few exceptions, the shore is privately owned - at least along the first few kilometers. Rarely have I seen so many prohibition signs at once, with which owners want to keep unwanted intruders away from their property. The second half was nicer. We were able to catch many views of the lake. The fruit and vegetable stands along the way tempt you to go shopping. The monastery garden is currently closed, so that the recorded detour has to be walked at this point.
