Train and leisure line 970 brought me to Franconian Tuscany east of Bamberg. This is where rolling hills and beer culture meet, which can best be experienced on a beer hike. The VGN leisure tip "7 in one go" is a short variant of the 13 breweries trail and instead of 13, 7 breweries are still waiting along the route to quench your thirst along the way. In my opinion, this is perfectly sufficient 🍻😉 The bus let me out at the starting point in Tiefenellern. The Hönig brewery would have been right here, but because of the current heat I was way too early for a stop. With a view down into the Ellertal, the winner sculpture reached near Lohndorf and theoretically the next two breweries (note: the Reh brewery only sells bottles). But currently I found the beautiful church and the magical half-timbered houses even more attractive than a hop cold bowl 😉 There were more sculptures along the way and past the singer's memorial I came to Melkendorf. Yes, there is a brewery here too and their beer machine ensures 24/7 supply. The adjoining forest came at the right time in the increasing heat and a short detour brought me to the Wendelinus oak. When it fell in the 1960s, it had a gigantic circumference of 13m and is said to have been over 1000 years old. In Geisfeld I was finally ready for a beer. Since the Krug brewery currently only sells bottles, I tried my luck at the Griess brewery. The "Open" sign was outside, but after an "Er, sorry, we're on vacation" I walked on to nearby Roßdorf. And finally I got a non-alcoholic yeast from the Sauer brewery. Shortly before my destination, Strullendorf, I was lured by the Schwanenkeller, whose beer garden is in a rustic location in the middle of the forest. After another alcohol-free yeast I was fit for the last few meters to the train station. Another beer hike with the boys.....🍻A tour recommended by the VGN. We took a taxi from Bamberg to Tiefenellern. It would take a bus, but it's quite long and unsafe. From there it went back on forest and forest paths through the Ellertal to Strullendorf. The paths were not so exhilarating now, so the physical well-being was well taken care of. It should be noted that many beer cellars only open in the afternoon. Best to inquire beforehand. All in all, a really nice hike 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺☀️☀️☀️☀️
