This route was planned by komoot.
Hike with the whole family. But while the kids are jumping around you like young gazelles, I'm glad that I arrived halfway alive in :-)
Unfortunately, the battery was empty and the way back could no longer be recorded. 🙈
It should have been a first ascent to the summit today. But since our little run yesterday afternoon was more strenuous than expected, we rescheduled for a valley ascent from the Dabaklamm to the Dorfersee. It's 20 km there and back, but not that steep. About 500 HM are distributed over the 20 km. We mastered that with a sporty serenity.
The Dorfertal used to be difficult to reach. With the construction of a path through the Daberklamm for pedestrians and later an unlit tunnel for the farmers' agricultural vehicles, the alpine pasture management in the Dorfertal became easier. Today, hikers and cyclists also use these access points to the Dorfertal. Today was a wonderful, wonderful and at the same time very easy hike to the Kalser Tauernhaus and further to the idyllic Dorfer See. As I felt yesterday with the St. George's Church, today with the Dorfer See: I had to look and look. From the Dorfer See you could continue into Salzburg to the Weißsee and the Rudolfshütte and cross the Hohe Tauern. I would like to do that one day, but not alone, even if komoot would even trust me to do it. Today I went back the same way, so you're safe from surprises 😃. By the way, if you take the bus to the Kals/Taurer stop, you can shorten the tour by almost 5 km. I walked directly from the hotel.
The Dorfer See is idyllically surrounded by mountains. The ascent is really doable.
One of my most beautiful, but also longest, tours in the "Hohe Tauern." My partner cursed me that day because I had chosen the tour only as a one-way tour to Dorfersee and had made it sound appealing with an easy, not-too-long hike. Without any bad thoughts, but blessed with "naivety," I didn't consider that the tour would have to be walked back, so instead of 9 km, it turned out to be more than 18 km, which made my better half furious. The tour itself, however, is scenically hard to beat, with the highlight being the "Dorfersee" and offers the hiker a wealth of scenic sights above Kals, so that in the evening, with a final stop at the pleasant Berger Alm with a tasty game dish, the effort of the long ascent and descent was (almost) forgotten. Anyone with time and stamina will get their money's worth with the Dorfersee and the hike there. I thought it was beautiful, and in retrospect, my companion thought so too... Today we went to Kals and then over the Dabaklamm Gorge to Dorfer See. A very beautiful hike through the gorge and the valley that opens up afterward. Then we continued for another hour on a mountain path to Dorfer See. Two nice places to stop for refreshments were also a must.
Welcome to the Hohe Tauern National Park. 😊 The Großklockner greeted us early this morning at our accommodation "Alpengasthof Lucknerhaus" from its most beautiful side - in a white dress... 🗻☀️😍 We started from Burg, near Kals am Großglockner, and ran today through the Daberklamm and through the Dorfer Tal. 🏞 A noise accompanied our way, which led past huge rock faces. Later the valley opened up and we could see the first white peaks in the distance. From the Kalser Tauernhaus it went again for about 1 hour over block terrain up to the Dorfersee. 🏞 Just gorgeous up there! 😍👍🏼 On the way back we saw marmots.
