Beautiful carpet of hyacinths

Highlight • Forest

A blessing for those who love purple...! The best chance to enjoy this purple carpet is between the end of March and the end of April.

The Reebokwandeling is a 7km walk in the Bois de Hal. During the hyacinth flowering season (end of April, beginning of May), about half of it passes through the Hyacinthenwandelingen, signposted hyacinth walks. Above all, it allows you to leave from one of the less frequented car parks (eg P9) in order to avoid the crowds leaving from the other car parks (including the very popular one at the chalet des chasseurs). Great views of the bluebells on the course.

Walking through the Hallerbos – A Moment of Reflection Sometimes you have days when your head is overflowing with thoughts. When you need to escape the hustle and bustle for a moment and just let the rhythm of your steps coincide with the breathing of the forest. Today was such a day. With a radiant sun and an almost summery 20 degrees, it felt like spring was already slowly announcing itself. The trees, still largely bare, whispered stories of seasons that came and went. Fallen leaves lay on the ground, memories of autumn, but between them I could already see the first buds – proof that life always goes on. The Hallerbos, known for its magical purple carpets of bluebells in the spring, is also a place of peace and reflection during this period. The wide avenues, lined with stately beech trees, invite you to be calm. Here, where horses gently find their way and the sun playfully breaks through the branches, I let my thoughts wander and found clarity. This short but intense walk was not just a walk. It was a moment of connection with nature, with myself, and with time that moves inexorably forward. But just like the trees that bear new buds, I feel that every end also carries a new beginning. A beautiful day for walking, a beautiful place to stand still for a moment.

You have to take the time to admire nature. We could see a deer between the trees a hundred meters away. This very beautiful walk is to be done outside peak hours and days. Early in the morning with the rising sun, the raking light is the most beautiful effect that the photos cannot render.
