Hiking
The long suspension bridge tour combines two hikes in the Karwendel Silver Region: the Ritter-Waldauf-Runde and the suspension bridge tour. The tour, which is a good ten kilometers long in total, forms a figure-eight loop. The best thing about it: you cross impressive suspension bridges three times!
Let's start on the Ritter-Waldauf-Runde. On the Kuntenweg you start on an asphalted route to the Tuxersteig before you dive into the forest. A sharp right turn then leads to the path of the "Front Suspension Bridge". From here you continue on the suspension bridge tour. You hike past the town hall and climb up the Kolsassberger Seiter, where the "Rear Suspension Bridge" awaits you. After crossing the path, the path leads towards the Maxnhag farm and then back to the "Front Suspension Bridge". Finally, you hike along the Ritter-Waldauf-Runde back to the starting point.
Three suspension bridges, pure nature and lots of variety – perfect for anyone looking for a hike with an adventure factor!

🐶 Princess Ally reports: My second day of hiking (or something like that) Well, to be honest… it's actually day three of our hiking vacation 😅 – but yesterday it was just constant rain 🌧️! No adventures for us, just the bare minimum of walks. But today, finally: backpack, leash, let's go! 🐾 Right at the start, my human faces the first major challenge: finding a parking spot 🅿️. I would have just parked on the grass, but no – apparently, that would result in an €80 fine. 💸 We're not allowed to park at the sports field either (only during games ⚽️ – ugh!). Luckily, my human remembers a tip: parking at the cemetery. We finally find a spot – and how convenient that the Lourdes Chapel ⛪️ is right next door, our first stop. ... The meditation trail leads us through tranquil nature, everything smells intriguing – damp earth, wet moss, animal tracks! 🐾 At the chapel, I sniff my way through the meadow while my human takes photos. Then on to the Neu-Rettenberg castle ruins – the path there is a dream! And mud everywhere! 😍 I try my best to take at least one bite of every clump (almost always works). The ruins are beautifully situated in the landscape 🏔️, but they're private property – so we move on. Then I hear it from afar: the sound of rushing water 💦! A suspension bridge! And – hooray! – with wooden planks instead of metal grating. So I cross without hesitation. My human is already waiting for me on the other side, laughing. On the way back, we discover that there's even a second suspension bridge – of course, we turn around! 😅 This makes the hike twice as long, but I have boundless energy. In Hög, we encounter roadworks 🚧, and the detour actually leads through a private garden – you hardly ever see that where I'm from! A real adventure. The second bridge is even more spectacular 🌉 – the hike there was so worth it! The return journey follows the road, as it's already getting dark in the forest 🌄🌳. I'm content, muddy, and happy – this is how I love hiking days! 🐾❤️
Today we did a short but very nice walk. The very well-marked suspension bridge walk.
