When I was looking for great hikes in Denmark beforehand, I came across this circular route, which was awarded the premium hiking trail by the German Hiking Institute. I don't give a damn about awards, but this tour more than deserves them. A really grandiose dune tour! The start and finish are in the small fjord port of Helmklink Havn. In between there are wonderfully aromatic pine forests, as well as a wide variety of dune landscapes, through which we mostly hiked alone. White dunes, gray dunes, dunes with crowberries, coastal dunes with common heather, dunes with creeping willow... the variety is great and the path leads straight through dune and partly moorland. The Savemose bathing lake, which is full of tadpoles at this time of year, is also beautiful. We met a really cool frog on our way and he made no attempt to flee from us... I think yes, he was scared, the little one 🐸. We treated ourselves to a little break in the farm shop cafe with coffee and cake in the sunshine before we arrived back in Helmklink Havn. We really liked the tour, absolute recommendation! But today I actually notice the very sandy ground 😎😂 it was a bit exhausting to walk 😜
Varied round in varied weather 😁 Luckily we spend the thunderstorm in the hut and can watch the swallows meanwhile. Arriving at the sea, we decide to continue hiking there. It's so wonderfully wild. A bit of rain gets us, but that doesn't really matter. All in all, it's a successful birthday 😊
