This route was planned by komoot.
Today we first looked at an old wooden church and a newer church. Then we drove to Santa Claus Village. If you know what it looks like in winter, you won't find it very exciting in summer. I found it to be a large souvenir market with a main focus on Christmas. Afterwards we went to Mount Ounasvaara. From an observation tower you have a wonderful view of the city. A little further on are 3 ski jumps. On the highest one - the 90 m jump - you can climb almost to the start house - 126 steps. That really surprised me. In our country the steps would be cordoned off and triple secured.
After we arrived in Rovaniemi we had some time before dinner so we decided to go up the town's local mountain. The mountain is called Ounasavaara and is 204 meters high. There is an observation tower on the mountain from which you have a great view of the town. If you walk downhill a bit you come to Rovaniemi's three ski jumps - a 36 meter, a 60 meter and a 90 meter ski jump. At the 90 meter jump you could go up to the take-off tower. That was very impressive because the view from up here was very beautiful. After the short hike up the mountain we went into town and looked at the pedestrian zone. Very nice, but also very small. It was a nice and interesting walk.
