CAI Mondovi trip to Levanzo, circular route in an anti-clockwise direction, cobbled streets, paths and path. Actual time 2h 36minutes
Today's tour took us to the small island of Levanzo, where only about a hundred people live. The ferry took us to the island in about 50 minutes, which we then explored in a beautiful tour. In addition to the diverse flora, Levanzo also has another highlight: the Genoese Cave, which was first discovered by a girl in the 1950s. In this cave there are paintings and stone carvings of people from Neolithic times! With a guide we were allowed to take a closer look at these drawings - very impressive! On the hike there were always great views of the sea, the cliffs and the neighboring islands of Favignano and Marettimo. A wonderful day with sun and clouds but luckily no water from above.
