Lovely hike up Knutshøe. Our "queen stage" in a great Norge-Womo hiking holiday. Directly from our nightspot with the camper, we were able to set out on a wonderful route over the Knutshøe - initially a bit of easy climbing (max. II) - then a great long ridge hike with super beautiful views of the peaks in Jotunheim NP, the Bessegengrat, the Gjendesjön - and in the second half a very relaxed route back in a beautiful river landscape. Great landscape, phenomenal views and with maybe a total of six encounters with other hikers also completely relaxed.
A nice alternative to the rather crowded Besseggengrat with great views of the lake and the river delta. Due to the length and scrambling over several bumps, it is quite strenuous. Shortly after the start, you have to climb about 15m with good footholds and there is also a steep passage at the summit. But also with good grip for hands and feet. Not exposed, but you should be able to stand the view down. The descent is not particularly difficult to scramble, but with great views. Once you reach the bottom, you go back along the river delta. Accordingly, mosquito alert. Here it is a gentle up and down over hill and dale to the small car park or other small parking bays.
After a cold night near the starting point, we set off for the last hike up Knutshøe in -2 degrees and an icy wind. This crossing is at least as beautiful as the nearby Besseggen and much quieter. We went on many hikes, saw a lot and enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere 🇳🇴😍🤩 The hikes will of course gradually be made public (as soon as the photos are uploaded). Best wishes from beautiful and sunny Norway 🇳🇴
