If you love tough climbs and rapid descents and want to be rewarded with fantastic views of the Dolomites, then this tour is exactly your thing. A tour that makes no compromises: challenging, scenic, and unforgettable.

Right after starting in Brixen, you cross the Eisack River and climb steeply up to St. Andrä. The additional elevation gain is demanding, but the view of the Geisler Group motivates you with every pedal stroke. In Palmschoss, you can take a short breather before continuing to wind your way along the mountainside on the switchbacks towards the Würzjoch Pass.

At almost 2,000 meters, a panorama opens up that you won't soon forget. The descent: fluid, winding, and mostly on top-quality asphalt. Later, the quiet road via Maria Saalen leads you back to the Rienz River, which you follow at a relaxed pace all the way to Brixen – and the grin lingers over an espresso.

The Würzjoch (2,006 meters) is definitely one of those passes where you can stay for a few days without having to drive a route twice. A bike paradise, so to speak. Together with the Kofeljoch it connects the Eisack valley in the west with the Gadertal in the east and lies in the shadow of the majestic north face of the Peitlerkofel. There is not often that much panorama on a mountain bike tour!
