This route was planned by komoot.
In the north you can cross the Ringkøbing Fjord via the Bagges Dæmning. There is no real circular hiking trail, however. You can park north of the road at a small rest area. You have to share the path with cyclists, but there were only a few of them today. Hikers even fewer, because dark rain clouds threatened the whole time and there was not much shelter on the route. So we went over the dam at a rapid pace, because the sky behind us was black and it was thundering. In Søndervig the path was actually supposed to continue to the beach, but we turned off and walked through the town because the first curds were falling. This part of the path (official hiking route) is only interesting if you like Danish holiday homes. When we arrived at the café, the sun was shining through the windows. That's how quickly things can change here on the coast. Having escaped the storm, we relaxed for a while before making a detour to the beach to see the bunkers. The last part of the route was back to the car park along the country road. Overall, it's a route that you can do, but ultimately there's nothing spectacular about it.
Today some "critters" jumped or flew in front of the lens.
B is also our start where we parked. In summer the route is not recommended
It would have actually been a beautiful day today, if it hadn't been for the storm. We skipped the beach, otherwise we would have definitely gotten battered. So we chose the fjord as our destination. A kitesurfing paradise. I always thought Switzerland or Austria had the most beautiful cows. But what was lying there in the pasture? Definitely Denmark's most beautiful cow.
The weather on our first day of vacation was better than expected, so we decided to go for a short hike around Ringkøbing Fjord.
After yesterday's rain, the sun came out today and we took a walk around the fjord. A nice little walk through the holiday home settlement and over the Baggers Dam back to the center of Sondervig. Our tour ends in a small bar at the beach entrance. If you like, you can continue walking along the beach or through the settlement back to the holiday home.
Really nice round, also completely suitable for wheelchairs. It was fun 👍
A really nice circular route. And although it is very wet everywhere and the water levels are very high, the path was very easy to walk. It's 9 km almost in one go and you don't want to take a break on wet benches. So we pulled through and are resting in the house, nice too 😉.
