Trail Reviews

Hiking2Duo
September 13, 2024, Alpe di Siusi loop hike

One day during our Dolomites visit in mid-September, a snow storm hit the region. This impacted our plans to hike Piz Boe and spend the night on the summit. But maybe to make up for this, the Dolomites offered us a magic day on the Alpe di Siusi plateau in a winter scenery within the very same week that we hiked in summer conditions in other parts of the massif. We took the Mont Seuc cable car in Ortisei and started a +-6km loop that took us to Sanon Hutte and back. While the views were breathtaking, the condition of the trail was pretty muddy due to the high temperatures already melting this first snow of the season. See the Youtube video description for maps and details. https://youtu.be/IplppYI6at0?si=yB8HvfuUWa8GACkL

We took the cable car 🚠 from Ortisei to the Seiser Alm and the first view was simply "WOW"! And no matter where you are on the panoramic trail, the views of the Langkofel and Sassopiatto are impressive! Since we still wanted to go to Seceda, the circuit was small and we used the chairlift to the cable car! 🙃
