This loop starts in the hamlet of Les Bariousses, near the dam of the eponymous lake. After a few dozen meters along the lake, you cross the Vézère River and begin to immerse yourself in nature. The scenery alternates between small clearings and woods opening onto the countryside. This route takes you through a small part of the famous Millevaches Plateau. A calm and peaceful hike awaits you there.
In the second part of the trail, the route overlooks the surrounding area, offering several viewpoints of the lake. On its northern shore, the lake has a beach that is equipped and supervised during high season. As the hike is not very long, you can plan it over a half-day and then enjoy the lake.
To reach the starting point in Les Bariousses, the nearest parking lots are at Les Églises (river parking lot) and near the beach.
