This hike led from the Hahnenkamm to the Pengelstein and touched on the four idyllic mountain lakes Brunn reservoir, Pengelsteinsee, Hiesleggsee and Ehrenbachhöhe reservoir. Always above the tree line, this was a wonderful panoramic tour with views of the Kaiser Mountains, the Loferer Steinberge and the Zillertal Alps. The paths are sometimes pathy, often unfortunately wider roads. The weather cloudy-sunny 🙂😎🏞🌻
This hike is the original "Four Lakes Trail to Pengelstein" route, although one section of the return route has been diverted due to construction and currently corresponds to the outward route. The tour begins at the top station of the Hahnenkammbahn in Kitzbühel and leads to Pengelstein and back. It's a challenge to describe the route - the photos speak for themselves - it's simply spectacular and hard to capture in words. Although it was very foggy at the beginning and the path was barely visible, as soon as you broke through the cloud cover, breathtaking views appeared. The bright blue sky, the pure sunshine, and the turquoise lakes - it was simply paradisiacal. This harmony of the white layer of clouds and the occasional remaining snow, where you sometimes couldn't tell whether it was snow or a layer of clouds, is unique. To document the snow cover, I took the liberty of making a snow angel. It may be that fantastic views were missed this time due to the weather, but the rewards of the mystical fog photos and the radiant sun photos are very generous. I highly recommend this hike again and again.
The hike was repeated with the goal of finding my lost sunglasses. The route was also extended to include a walk around the Sonnenrast reservoir. The glasses were indeed found. This time, we were able to fully enjoy the distant views we had missed due to yesterday's fog. Always a worthwhile hike.

With the Hahnenkamm Bahn up and down a very nice tour with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains such as the Wilder Kaiser, the Kitzbüheler Horn and the snow-covered uncles like probably 😀 Großglockner and Co.
Today we were supposed to go a little higher up and so we took the Fleckalmbahn to swing us comfortably up 🚡😄 On the way to Pengelstein, the many lifts make it unmistakably clear who is in charge here in winter⛷️⛷️⛷️ Some fairly new, partly elaborately built MTB trails attract the audience of tomorrow and ensure that hikers and bikers don't get in each other's way come👍 The mountains were a little hidden in the haze today and so from the premium viewing points you could only imagine what a fantastic panorama is offered here when visibility is good🤷♂️
Unfortunately, some paths are currently closed due to construction work, so you often have to walk the same way there and back
