Ascent to Filzensattel from Lend

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

A scenic 13.4-kilometer climb from Lend to the Filzensattel. Take your time! While the first few kilometers seem relatively relaxed, it gets really tough towards the end.

Filzensattel Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Beautiful pass road! Even if you don't have the really big vertical meters, the area is still beautiful and the climb is relatively steep.

July 9, 2023, Runde von Maria Alm über Filzensattel via Dienten bis Zeller See und zurück

A very nice round. Starting in Maria Alm, the first 8.5 km start with a leisurely incline. Then up to the Filzensattel; Although "only" about 400 Hm, but they are quite crisp. The rest of the 900Hm of the tour is distributed very moderately. Simply a beautiful tour with various highlights. For example, the looong descent after the saddle and before sllem to Dienten. Great! 💯% recommendation.

This morning we arrived in the Gastein Valley, to Bad Gastein to be precise. However, after the long drive I made a short stop before the Gastein Valley for a first 🚴‍♂️ lap 😊 And so we went from Bruck to Lake Zell, ☕️&🍰 stop in Zell am See, a bit further along the lake, and via Gerling to Maria Alm am Steinernen Meer. From Maria Alm we took the Hochkönig road steadily up to the Filzensattel at 1290m altitude. From the Filzensattel we went down to Dienten am Hochkönig, then continued down the Pinzgauer road towards Lend. Before Lend we turned right and along the Salzach back to Bruck to the car, then drove into the Gastein Valley and the last stretch to Bad Gastein. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy and I couldn't see any of the mountains around me 🤷🏻‍♂️ but it was still beautiful 😊 Thunderstorms were forecast for the afternoon and as I type this short report with a cup of coffee, it rumbles and starts to rain. Oh yes - by the way, from September 23 to August 24, so in 12 months (or 1 year 😉😅) I climbed 210,000 meters ✌️😁✌️... awesome 😝
