One of the most beautiful trips on Orust and Tjörn. Even if the hike is short, be sure to plan a whole day. Unfortunately the altitude information is not correct, there is a lot of up and down, but overall it is not difficult. More tips for Orust and Tjörn can be found here: https://wanderfolk.de/2023/10/15/tjoern-orust-schweden/
We really hiked a lot in Sweden. Over 100km. The Dyröleden was without a doubt the BEST. 6 km around the island. Challenging. Great prospects. benches to rest. swimming spots. Wanderer, what more do you want. IT WAS NICE 🤗
We are absolutely thrilled with this hike around Stora Dyrön, the archipelago experience at its finest. The panoramic view from the highest point on the island is also amazing. We took the boat line from Rönnäng to the island, but you could also take the line from Rökan in the south (but it doesn't run often).
Only 6 km of hiking - I'll be through that in an hour. Forget it! If you want to enjoy the views of the archipelago and use the bay for a "refreshment stop", you should allow 4 hours. It is recommended to hike anti-clockwise, as shown. Then you'll get the more challenging part out of the way right at the beginning and you won't be hiking in a group with the other ferry crossers. If you misjudged the food: there is a small ICA on the island where you can refuel 👍. For all flip-flop fans: buy hiking boots 🥾, you'll need them. 😃
Today we spent a wonderful day on the island of Dyrön. It is located in the archipelago in the southwest of Sweden in Bohuslän. We walked around the island on the Dyröleden hiking trail. This takes you along beautiful paths around the island and is very well marked with yellow signs. The path is easy to walk, a little surefootedness is an advantage, as are decent shoes. The path leads over wooden walkways, the bare rock, pretty forest paths and up and down many stairs. If you would like to jump into the sea, there is a large selection of bathing spots along the way. On the south side of the island, about halfway along the route, there is also the option of stopping for a break. A great island, a wonderful tour! Ferry tickets can be bought either via the Västtrafik app or directly on board, the ferry departs from Rönnäng.
Beautiful hike on a well marked trail across the island. Lots of great views (and lots of stairs). So it won't be boring. We went the loop anti-clockwise, so we had the best highlights right at the beginning.
Today, the island of Dyrön was on our hiking program for the second time. At 11:35 a.m., we took the ferry from Rönnäng to the island of Astol and from there to Dyrön. This time, we did the entire Dyröleden island circuit, which was limited to a short section with a sauna visit on the last visit due to constant rain. Today, it did rain a little at the beginning, but it was a very nice tour with a spectacular view from Grinneberget and the sighting of wild mouflon sheep. The path led through small forests and over many rocks and wooden walkways from Norre Hamn to Södre Hamn and on to the sauna by the sea, which we booked from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and this time even had to ourselves. But first, we had a waffle on a stick with ice cream and a cup of coffee at Södre Hamn. We were then able to enjoy the sauna in bright sunshine, as it came through the clouds just in time for the sauna visit. After the visit to the sauna, we walked another 1.5 km through the rocks and gorges and again over numerous wooden walkways and stairs back to the ferry dock in Norre Hamn and then at 5:58 p.m. we took the ferry back to Rönnäng.
The Dyrönled island tour starts at the harbor and goes around the island in an anti-clockwise direction. The path leads over rocks and man-made walkways and stairs. Exactly on the opposite side of the island is a small port with an ICA that has a pizzeria. After leaving the port, the Wef becomes a forest path a short time later. It still walks over rocks, but now there are trees everywhere. Finally you reach the harbor again.
