This hike takes you to two of the famous ten (!) idyllic lakes around Arosa – via Älplisee, you hike to Schwellisee. You start at the Hörnligrat, which you can easily reach by cable car from Arosa. From there, you walk down to Älplisee, which lies at an altitude of 2,156 meters. You can take a relaxing break amidst the impressive peaks of the Aroser Rothorn and the Älplihorn.
The hike continues along a high-altitude trail that offers fantastic views of the surrounding mountain panorama. You then reach Schwellisee at an altitude of 1,933 meters. The lake is surrounded by ancient Swiss stone pine forests and exudes a magical atmosphere. Finally, you return to the valley station of the Hörnli Express, where you end your circular tour.
