Our destination today was the new suspension bridge near Neustift on the Sunnleit'n Weg. We started off by following the treehouse path, which features beautiful, elaborately constructed treehouses. Just like yesterday, the weather was amazingly good. The sun even came out when we reached the bridge. The route was long, but varied, with constant ups and downs. The suspension bridge is a worthwhile destination...we all agreed! Unfortunately, we had to climb up again to reach the Kartnall snack bar, but the stop was worth it. Mmm 😋 The dumpling duo with fresh salad was delicious. From there, we descended to Neustift and took the bus back...when the rain started coming 😅
The tree house path is lovingly made. If we had left the kids there, they would have spent the whole day there. So we walked over the suspension bridge to Neustift. The suspension bridge is spectacular, but the forest road around it is really boring!
In good weather, it's a lovely tour with lots of lovely, interesting spots. A highlight is the new suspension bridge. This tour is suitable for families.
Today, we also took the gondola; this time to the middle station of the Kreuzjochbahn cable car, before heading towards Neustift. We hiked the first part of the trail along a section of the Treehouse Trail 🪵🛖, along beautiful, narrow paths through the forest 🌲🌳. As the name suggests, there are several treehouses along this trail, primarily intended as an incentive for children. When the forest ended, we came to green alpine meadows with a fantastic view of the valley 🤩. Here we were exposed to the sun 🌝, which was once again very kind to us. So we took the opportunity to stop at the Alpengasthof Vergör for a cool drink. After that, the path was mostly no longer narrow and shady, but wide and sunny; one section even runs along a paved road. In the small village of Pfurtschell, there is a farm shop with drinks, delicious treats, and great gift ideas, mostly made of wood. The highlight of this hike was, of course, the suspension bridge and the viewing point there. You have a fantastic view of Neustift and the snow-capped peaks at the end of the Stubai Valley. Simply magnificent 😍. After the suspension bridge, the trail eventually descended, some of it quite steep, all the way down to Neustift.
A beautiful tour from Neustift with fantastic views of the mountains opposite. It starts on a tarmac road, but then alternates between gravel paths and forest trails. The first climb is tough. Once that's over, the climb to the middle station of the Kreuzjochbahn cable car is mostly steady but manageable. There are sunny and shady sections along the so-called "Sunnenweg," and there are also places to stop for refreshments. The suspension bridge is definitely a highlight. Standing in the middle of the bridge, you can feel the sway, but it's easily doable even for those with weak nerves. Unfortunately, Kommot (or my phone) kept losing the GPS, which is why the tour looks a bit wild.
