Harschbichl

Not quite, but almost, up to the Kitzbüheler Horn on this tour. You can replenish the calories burned on the steep 900-meter climb at the Harschbichl mountain inn before embarking on the exhilarating descent.

From St. Johann in Tirol, you first climb a single-lane asphalt road to the Pointenhof. Thanks to the firm gravel path, you continue uphill from there, still with good grip, to the mid-station of the Harschbichl cable car. Passing the Angerer Alm mountain hut – a stop here is recommended – the Alpine panorama becomes increasingly better, but once you reach the top, at the 1,604-meter-high Harschbichl, it is unsurpassed.

You can return the same way, or alternatively, via more challenging trails. If you arrive by car, you'll find a large parking lot at the valley station of the cable car, and the St. Johann in Tirol train station is right next door.
